We booked a half day trip with Captain Eric. There was 7 of us. (4 adults, 3 children). We all were able to catch fish and have fun on the boat. With only a half day trip we found staying closer to shore gave you the best bang for your buck. We started trolling for bigger fish and caught a couple but there was way more action dropping lines over the ship wreck and also anchoring over the reefs. Captain Eric is super knowledgeable also. Don’t hesitate to book a trip.

Captain Eric was amazing! He was so knowledgeable, entertaining and put us on a lot of fish! Our crew of six had an amazing time on the boat and we had enough fish to feed our 13 people back at the condo. The captain cleaned and filleted our fish perfectly and gave us some nice preparation and cooking instructions! If ever back to St thomas or St John we will 100% book with Virgin Island Sport Fishing again.

My son in law and I took a four hour fishing trip with Eric.  It was a rocky day on the water so we chose to do inshore and reef fishing.  We caught Bonitas, Bluerunners, Mackerels, Yellowtail Snappers, Silk Snappers, Redhinds and Coney.  Eric was a great and patient captain as we tried our sportsfishing skills.  I had never done it before so there was alot of patience required!  We both would use Eric as our captain again!

What a great day. Bucket list #1. Caught a 50+ lb sailfish on 30 lb test.  Took 35 minutes to land with EXCELLENT coaching by the captain.  Then I had mentioned a second bucket list was a Tarpon which I caught inshore with about 20 minutes left in the trip.  Also caught two nice size rainbow runners which he filleted. They tasted great. Also caught Spanish mackerel, bonita, a small shark and very long needle fish. The captain’s very confident we would catch fish…and we did.
