Kenny put us on the fish and never rushed us or worried about time

Ive been on charters before and this was by far my worst experience. for starters captain Kennys power steering on the boat was going out which was why he wouldnt or couldnt take us out further than 12 feet of water. He told us that he didnt want us to get stuck at sea due to his boat not being serviced properly. I booked a 6 hour trip and we fished the entire time in 12-15 feet of water right off the beach. we only caught literally 3 small grunts no bigger than my hand when we booked for shark, grouper, & larger fish. I realize catching fish is not guaranteed but we probably would have had a better shot going a bit further off shore into deeper water. Also for bait all we used was shrimp and one mackrel that was cut up for the sharks and grouper. Ive always used squid or bait fish when going out to sea. we couldve have a wider array of bait as well. lastly we ended our trip an hour early. I paid $800 dollars for a six hour fishing trip, not for 5 hours. This was by far my worst experience as far as chartering a boat. Captain Kenny shouldve informed us before we paid for the trip that his boat was damaged and that we couldnt go offshore or out further than a mile or so. I would like to say Kenny is a nice guy and treated us well so as far as hospitality goes, he gets an A. Unfortunately, this is not a hospitality review, this is a review on my experience booking a charter for deep sea fishing. I feel like we got hustled for a quick money grab instead of treating us like paying customers that should be valued. The boat should’ve been cleaned properly prior to booking as well as maintenance and serviced up to par and ocean ready. We should have had a wider array of bait like I stated before, and we should have went further out to sea. I posted one of the pathetic fish I caught at sea.  Sadly I couldve done way better at a lake or pond at home fishing for bluegill. I did leave a tip because Kenny is a nice guy and was hospitable although I probably shouldnt have. Honestly I feel like I should be refunded my money minus the cost for gas & bait because I didnt & couldnt get the full experience because the boat wasnt up to par.
