The 5 hour afternoon state water trip was great for taking my son! He learned a lot and didn’t get sea sick. So I feel much better about booking a 8 or 10 hour trip. Arrived eagerly to go out and catch some fish! As we proceed out the gulf, we all could tell not going to be a normal day. Very WINDY with 4-5ft swells. Captain Ethane stopped the boat. Said guys, we ain’t going to make it out much further. Gave us an option of going back or fishing there along the coast for sharks. We chose fishing. Ended up catching multiple sharks. I have had several charters but Captain Rodney and Captain Ethan are hands down the greatest experience I have personally had. We trolled first and caught 3 king mackerel. We had a party of six so everyone probably wasn’t going to catch a fish. Captain recommended going to a place to bottom fish where everyone would probably catch a fish. We caught several red snapper but had to release most of them because they were an inch short of minimum but each of us caught several fish. I was amazed that that many fish were an inch short.
