What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Corolla, North Carolina for the first time?

My son and daughters first fishing trip. My daughter seemed to catch a fish every time she dropped her line. Capt. Brian snagged a huge catfish for my son to reel in. It was almost as big as he was. What an experience!

May want to bring a light jacket especially for children on early morning trips. The captain can only do so much. Know that just because you charted a boat that doesn't mean you're guaranteed to catch a boat full of fish.

Be open to catching what is biting. If searching for a particular species I would recommend starting with catching what is biting and then search for your particular species toward the end. Captain Charles knows the water and what is biting. Listen to him.

Keep in mind that summertime fishing at the Outer Banks is very hit or miss. Just have fun with whatever time you spend with friends and family while fishing, and look at anything you catch as a bonus to that experience.

Wear long pants, long-sleeved shirt and big hat and show up on time. These guides work hard to make sure you get a great experience and they have a short time to get it done.

We caught more fish on the beach. Save your money. If you are going to go out fishing, I would suggest going out to the Oregon Inlet.

Last year drove 1 1/2 hours each way. Fished in Corolla this year and it was only 9 minutes from the house.

Be prepared for anything and any kind of weather and be prepared for any type of fish

Good afternoon of fishing ... the wind did make things tough 10-15 mph...but we caught fish !
