Winds were moderately strong. We were on a smaller boat so the ride often felt choppy. But this was expected (I had been in touch with Captain Sean leading up to the trip), we never felt unsafe, and in fact, the kids felt the thrill of being on a fast boat in slightly stronger winds.

You need to book a trip with smaller tide movement. We booked on a 7ft tidal change that reduced the chances of catching fish but Captain Ken has been on the water for over 40 years and put us on the halibut.

This was a trip out of Pittsburg, not Berkley. Definitely dress warm for the later time of year. Just have fun.

Book, book, book the Josie Mac by far the best boat and charter out there. This is coming from a grand father who has 40 plus charters under his belt.

Crab/fish combos mean very little time fishing. If you want to fish, I would recommend booking a fish-only trip.

To purchase license before going to boat. Bd ready that the fishing will last longer.

The Berkeley Harbour was easy to find plenty of parking, we easily found our captain and his boat.
