What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Islamorada, Florida for the first time?

Book this trip if you want to experience the thrill of the big tug! The caption was great with my 2 sons and kept them wore out tugging big fish in all day! Highly recommended!

The 2 hour trip was great if you are short on time and want to get in the highlights. It goes by fast when you are having fun, so we did wish we booked the 4 hour once we were out there.

Trust the captain on what kind of fish to target. If you try to pick one species you might spend a whole day and not catch much. Be flexible

Weather was beautiful & water gorgeous. We enjoyed the smooth boat ride out to our spot in the Everglades National Park. Fished in several spots & got fish at them all.

Yes, lots of fish so long as the captain knows where to go and is mindful of what the customers need/want.

Winds can turn certain bites on or off day to day. However, it’s not the sport fishing capital of the world for no reason. I doubt you’ll find a bad boat and crew in any marina fleet.

We missed the Wahoo by a couple of days, they will be short in trail of the kingfish we hooked up with today

Expect windy conditions and slower moving fish. They are definitely out there to be caught! And don’t expect to catch tarpon if the water temps are lower.

Bring non-slip shoes/wet shoes, sunscreen, a hat, if you wear glasses get Eyewear retainers, aqua friendly pants/shirt, a windbreaker/rain jacket, a sandwich and drink.

Lots of tarpon moving around the mangrove islands in October. A live shrimp, or a DOA shrimp is a great bait for the tarpon.

Plenty of sunscreen and be prepared to hunt for fish on the move. Offshore definitely preferable to bottom fishing this time of year.

Find the right charter for you and bring lots of water... Target Tuna, grouper, snapper and Mahi.. Lots of fun..

Observe and take in the unique beauty of the area. We caught good fish, but also saw porpoise, sharks, stingrays, crocodiles, osprey, pelicans, shorebirds and an eagle. Awesome experience.

Enjoy the overall experience and remember it's Fishing not Catching. Getting a hot bite is not guaranteed but a bonus.

Hot and not a lot big fish in July, so tamper expectations of huge fish and get excited about good eating fish that range in the 5 lbs range. Still a lot of fight in the fish

A cute marina just off of A1A. Leave early because Google Maps isn't too accurate and the parking is a little tight.

If you are first ocean fishing go for yellow tail. If you want a great adventure fish for Mahi. If you want big fish go wreck fishing.

1/2 day trip to start. Depending on time of year, the sun can be pretty intense. UV protective clothing from top of head to feet. Chasing fish in Keys can be intense.

Don’t waste your money trying to catch tarpon in the daytime. Hire a guide who fishes at night.

Good fly casting is key. Be able to double haul well. Plenty of fish there but they are highly pressured. You will see lots fish. Whether or not you connect with them might be a different story.
