We caught an 800 lb bluefin tuna!!!

We have been fishing for around 10 years, and we can say with confidence that this was the best fishing trip we have ever gone on. The day started off early, the captain and the mate were very friendly and helpful. We got to the fishing spot and started catching some bait, they helped us unhook them and put them in the bait tank. After that we put some mackerel out and waited for a bite, we even used a kite. After that we switched to the captains special spot, where he said something happened every time he went there. After a half hour wait, we saw a giant fish staring at the bait on the radar and capt Brad started reeling in one of our baits because he knew that we had a fish on. After 2 hours of fighting the fish, we finally landed the 800 pounder. We got it into the boat, took some photos then the mate and capt gutted and put ice in the fish. We then got back to shore and weighed the fish and sold it. The capt and mate were so helpful the entire trip. What a great day of fishing!

Fun family experience catching striped bass!
4 Hour Trip β Inshore (1PM) on June 28, 2025 β’ 2 adults β’ 1 child
What an incredible afternoon! The day was cloudy with light rain before boarding the Fishbucket at 1pm in Boston Harbor⦠that provided the comfortable setting of minimal boaters out in the Boston Harbor area. The Fishbucket has great electronics to monitor where the fish are swimming, which gave us the resources to reel in 10 striped bass during our 4 hour journey (we kept 2, and released the others back to the sea). Captain Mike and Danny went out before our trip and caught an abundant supply of mackerel, so we had great results with live bait. They made every effort to give our family a successful fishing adventure!
Our 12 year old son was loving the experience, and the first mate Danny went above and beyond to provide instruction and tips that proved successful. After the trip, we cooked our fish for dinner and it was fantastic. Our son was beaming with joy during the trip, and we hope to go again on the Fishbucket. Also want to note that the boat has plenty of space to easily move around, there is covered space, a bathroom, and Capt. Mike turned on the heat to keep us warm as we went out of the harbor. If you are seeking a 4 hour afternoon fishing trip with beautiful views of Boston Harbor on a boat with comfortable amenities, highly recommend Captain Mike and The Fishbucket!!!

Great day on the water off Boston!

We had three adults and three 13yos and had a wonderful time with Capt Brad and First Mate Jason. The fishing was slow but productive, especially when other Charters showed up to our spots and we were the only boat catching! Parking was easy right at the Liberty pier ($42) and the boat was easy to find from there. We will definitely go out again!
