We were visiting Ensenada during a family cruise, and this fishing trip turned out to be one of the absolute highlights of our vacation. This was my 70‑year‑old dad’s first time fishing in Ensenada and my 12‑year‑old son’s first trip to Mexico. From the moment we stepped on the Lucky II, we felt welcomed and taken care of. Marco, the owner, started us off with a hands‑on crash course on the rods and setup, which really helped — especially having three generations on board. Captain Juan and his crew, Alberto and Manny, were outstanding all day. They worked nonstop, constantly adjusting and making sure everyone — from my dad to my son — was comfortable and involved. When trolling wasn’t producing, we switched to live bait and that’s when the action started. We had just come from Cabo where we only caught one fish, so this trip completely turned our vacation around. Manny helped me land my first yellowtail — an unforgettable fight and a moment I’ll always remember. Seeing my dad and my son smiling with their catches meant everything. Alberto prepared fresh ceviche for us right on the boat, which was incredible. Later, we took some of our fillets to a local restaurant in town and they cooked them up for us — hands down one of the best meals of the trip. There’s something special about catching your own fish and enjoying it with your family just hours later. The boat is named Lucky II, and it truly lived up to its name. Before we left, Marco handed me a $2 bill and said it was lucky. He was right — it turned into an amazing, memorable day for our entire family. This crew is professional, patient, hardworking, and genuinely cares about your experience. Perfect for all ages. We will absolutely be reaching out to them the next time we’re in Ensenada. We (group of 5) took the 3/4 day trip, our 2nd trip with this captain. I think a decent catch is almost guaranteed with them. We opted to purchase live bait. Squid bait is provided, and works, but live bait seems to work much better. We caught about 30, lingcod, rockfish, whitefish, mackerel mix. The crew has long experience here, patient teachers,where needed, and attentive. Mid-day fresh ceviche was great! We’ll probably take the full day next time, hoping for yellowtail and mahi mahi. We recommend for an enjoyable day trip!

Wanted to fish while on a cruise, we saw previous positive comments and booked the Lucky II boat with Lucky Sport Fishing. Juan our guide got us on fish quickly after a ride out offshore. Had a great time and first thing each rod out each had a fish. Caught some decent Bonita, and some bottom fish before we had to head back to our ship. We would definitely book through Lucky Sport Fishing again!

Hello. I'm not a fishing person but my spouse enjoys fishing. This is my first time booking a fishing trip. I used my credit card to book $75 and rest due at the ship day of trip.Parking can be tricky , we found a legal spot to safely park my Tahoe plus we noticed a parking structure that was open for our next trip. Fish was small but it could be the time of year. Last year in October they were all big.so now we know.the 2 man crew were respectful and attentive. I felt safe and relaxed. I recommend this place which is also cheap to what you pay in the us.

My girlfriend and I booked this trip and had some scheduling issues on our end due to an itenerairy change on our cruise ship. The captain was understanding and accommodated our schedule change upon request. After boarding, we drove out to the fishing grounds and begun to catch rock fish. My girlfriend and I were both feeling a little under the weather, but we made the best of it with the time that we had. Great Captain, Great Crew; would definitely fish with them again!
