Double Time Charters specializes in fishing adventures at unbeatable rates out of Destin, the ‘World’s Luckiest Fishing Village.” With trips ranging from four to eight hours, you will surely find something that suits your specific needs.

Whether you want to stay nearshore or head to deeper waters offshore, Double Time Charters will get you to the hot bite. Long trip or short trip, Capt. Tim will work to get you on the fish. He will put his talent to work for you. No matter which trip you choose, he’ll try to customize it for you.

Double Time Charters will take you fishing for a variety of reef and pelagic species. Your potential catches will depend on the season, including but not limited to Almaco Jack, Amberjack, Jack Crevalle, Red Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Vermillion Snapper, Triggerfish, Sheepshead, Redfish, Grouper, Scamp, Black Seabass, Bank Seabass, Cobia, Tripletail… and the list just keeps going!

Take as many fish species off your personal bucket list as possible. Bottom fish for Snappers and other tasty fish, or troll for Mackerels, Bonito, and other fast species, or do a combo with both styles of fishing!

Double Time Charters will take you out aboard a 25’ World Cat power catamaran. This is a quiet and stable fishing machine with twin 150 HP Yamaha 4-stroke outboards. The boat is outfitted with navigational and fish finding electronics, as well as other professional accessories. There is a Cobia tower with full controls, an ice-box for the catch and a cooler for drinks, and a potty bucket for the lady anglers. All aboard!

The trips come with quality tackle, ice, fishing license, and fish cleaning and bagging. You will need to bring your own drinks, snacks, proper clothing, and a camera.

The water was choppy and two of my mates got a little sea sick. It set us back a little bit but I have to hand it Captain Tim. He took that into consideration and knew just how to address it. The first few spots we tried were taken over by trigger fish. Then we struck gold... Over 30 red vermillion snappers! We ate well that evening. Thanks again Captain Tim for your patience...

Great Trip with Captain Tim

5 Hour Trip on August 9, 2022 • 4 adults

Captain Tim was very upfront with us when we had bad weather the day of our fishing charter. Not only did we have storms, but the wind and gulf waters were too rough for deep sea fishing. Even though other charters had canceled for the day, he was willing to take us trolling near the shore and play it by ear. We ended up trolling for about 3 hours (we booked a 5 hour trip) and at that point Captain Tim said that the weather has cleared enough to try deep sea fishing. Unfortunately, 2 out of 4 in our group had already become sea sick due to our inexperience with being on boats and the rough waters. After a few minutes of debating, we decided to call it a day. We ended up going home with 18 spanish mackerel which Captain Tim fileted, de-boned and de-veined on the dock. Our count would be 20 but we lost 2 of them to a couple of sneaky dolphins. Overall we had an amazing first time fishing with Captain Tim- he taught us to drop and set the lure and watch the rod for a bite. He is incredibly knowledgeable about all things fish and water and went above and beyond to answer our questions and teach us how to fish. By the end of those 3 hours, we were fishing on our own even though we had little to NO prior fishing experience. We truly enjoyed our adventure even though it wasn't what we expected. We'll definitely be back next year!

Successful Trip!

5 Hour Trip on July 27, 2022 • 5 adults

Captain Tim took our crew of 6 out for a 5 hour trip. With live bait not being available to buy, our first task was to head offshore a short distance to catch our live bait fish. While it took a while, we all had fun taking our turns at jigging off the bottom and reeled in enough to then head out to deeper water. While we started off slow and struggled to avoid sharks, we finally found a couple of good spots. Tim stayed out longer than planned to make sure everyone in our group reeled in at least one nice sized fish. It was a great trip overall and we really appreciated the extra time and effort from Captain Tim to make our trip a success. This was our second trip with Double Time Charters and we would highly recommend them for a great fishing experience.

Half Day Trip - Great Success

5 Hour Trip on May 30, 2022 • 5 adults

Most of the reviews you’ll read on here will become repetitive and exaggerated about successful hauls but let me tell you my experience with Captain Tim. All but one of our 5 man group had prior experience with a fishing guide. I had asked Captain Tim the day before to put these guys on fish and not come home empty handed. We had every intention to bring back the gulf’s finest delicacies. Our 5 hour trip did not disappoint! Captain Tim put us on fish the entirety of the time. His method of bottom fishing brought in endless red snappers and vermillion snappers. We went from run to another. He made sure that we didn’t waste time at a location if it didn’t yield fish. We were constantly on the hunt. Someone was always reeling in a fish or busy baiting hooks. Captain Tim is very methodical and meticulous in his search for fish. Years of notes and coordinates are scribbled on the dash in pencil. His captains log is filled with notes from prior trips. This man is tenured. He has that instinct for the water like hunters have in the woods. Every sound, flash of light, and radar blip, Captain Tim investigated and made note. That skill comes with years of experience. He mentioned that we’ll catch fish but it’s the ones worth keeping is the issue. Lucky for us, there was no issue. We caught what we were looking for. Our final haul was 28 fish but there were countless more released. For the 5 guys who have never fished the gulf, Captain Tim made it memorable and gave us a reason to come back. I can promise you we’re having Captain Tim as our guide.
