Uw trip begint op een 28' BHM downeaster gebouwd in Brooklin Maine, een comfortabel vaartuig aangedreven door een 200 PK Volvo dieselmotor met voldoende ruimte voor 4 gasten, exclusief een eerste maat die ook meegaat op uw trip. De navigatietechnologie omvat Garmin 10" Touch GPS en Simrad fishfinder, evenals twee VHF-radio's en Garmin Radar. De boot heeft een toilet, keuken en bed. Om uw comfort en viservaring nog beter te maken, is er een tv die u kunt gebruiken, evenals een koelbox en een leefbak.
Tijdens uw trip kunt u vissen op Blauwvintonijn, Schelvis, Gestreepte Zeebaars, Kabeljauw, Koolvis, Heilbot, Amerikaanse Bot en Haringhaai. Met licht en zwaar materiaal lokt u uw prooi door bodemvissen en diepzeevissen, trollen, spinvissen en jiggen. U kunt de vis die u vangt houden of weer vrijlaten.

What A Trip It Was!!!!

We began our day with a delicious breakfast at Mom’s Kitchen—highly recommended for its cozy atmosphere and great food. Shortly afterward, we met Captain Matt at the dock and set off on our adventure. Within just 20 minutes, we were already reeling in fish!
My daughter was thrilled, catching mackerel three at a time and having an absolute blast. Even my wife managed to land two fish on a single hook! Captain Matt was exceptional—friendly, patient, and wonderful with children. His enthusiasm and expertise made the entire outing unforgettable.
This was a truly special experience for our family, and one we’ll cherish for years to come. I wholeheartedly recommend this excursion to anyone, especially families looking to create lasting memories on the water.

The Perfect Day at Sea!

I wish I could give Captain Matthew more than 5 stars! This was my first time offshore fishing and I have been traveling New England for the last 2 weeks. I believe this was my favorite day of vacation! The weather was beautiful. The water was calm. Parking was free and easy to find. I drove from my hotel which was about 25 minutes away and I was totally unfamiliar with the area. My son (age 12) and myself (middle aged mom) booked this trip online. My husband was supposed to join us but had a last minute work thing to do and had to cancel. I am not going to lie, I was a little apprehensive about going out to sea with an unfamiliar man on my own, but I couldn’t have been more wrong! Captain Matthew was respectful and professional. I was immediately at ease. He is really personable and he explained things well. First, we caught our own bait (mackerel and pollock) and then went after the striped bass. We didn’t have a lot of luck at the first spot, so he drove us over to another area. We immediately starting catching fish. Some big ones! We each caught one that fit the parameters of keeping. He took care of everything for us including putting me in touch with someone who could ship our fish home. (We live several hundred miles away). We had such a great time! I cannot wait to do it again! If you are a group of girls or a mom with kids, do not hesitate to book this trip!

Strippers and Buns!

My grandson and I went fishing with Captain Matt and had the time of our lives! We caught five good size striped bass and they each gave us a good fight to bring in. My grandson, who’s 14, caught three of them and it was the highlight of our trip for him. Captain Matt was terrific! He had great equipment, nice boat and knew the right places to find the fish. Before we went out, we had breakfast next door to his dock at Mom’s, which I highly recommend, and they gave us a cinnamon bun to give to Captain Matt. He insisted to show that off with our fish in our pictures! LOL!
I recommend Matt and the Lyla Rose highly! ( and Mom’s)

we cut short due to weather and one of us having seasick, but we were able to catch mackerels! As three complete beginners we were lucky to have found this charter and captain Matt has definitely made the trip very welcoming - he taught us how to fish, and put us on the fish, and we succeeded! :) Would definitely recommend!

Capt Matt was great from the moment we booked with him. He was responsive to all emails and replied very quickly. His communication was great and our overall experience was awesome for it being our first time out. The only small con is we had 4 people in our group and it would have been nice if we all could have fished together but we had to take turns, 2 at a time. This didn’t sway the overall experience in a bad way though because we did have a good time! We would definitely recommend Capt Matt to others and would visit again!! Thank you for making our first experience a good one!

Thanks Dokoi!! I had a great time fishing with you and your family, sometimes when we are trolling lures in tight quarters, and with fish coming in consistently at the pace they were we will fish two rigs at a time to avoid tangles and potential lost catches. I wish u had mentioned it and I would have gladly tried to sneak another line out into the madness. You guys made it look easy out there! Can’t wait to do it again 👍🎣
