Tail Finder Fishing Charters runs angling trips out of North Myrtle Beach and offers to show you a fishing adventure filled with Southern hospitality and fun!

Capt. Cody, alongside his brother Chase, want to create a customized experience to fit your needs, so let them know what you want! Depending on the trip and species, you’ll be using techniques like trolling, jigging, and spinning. You’re looking at 4 to 5-hour trips, where you’ll usually go after the likes of Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Redfish, Flounder, Black Drum, and Shark, depending on the weather and time of year.

During your outing, you’ll fish in many spots, including Cherry Grove Beach, Little River, Sunset Beach, and the surrounding Shallotte area. You’ll try backwater creeks, dock/structure fishing, the jetties, and nearshore fishing all depending on the season. You’re welcome to keep all legal species caught during the trip.

Your fishing adventure starts on a 22’ Pathfinder boat that can safely take up to 5 anglers. This boat features an ice box and a wireless trolling motor.
All rods, reels, and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, fishing. Your trip will include all the necessary fishing licenses for the day.

Beautiful day on the water. Captain Cody was very personable and polite. His boat was very clean. He even had an iced down cooler ready for us to keep drinks and snacks cold. Great experience. Nobody had much luck on the water but he made every effort to get us to the best fishing holes for the best results. He even traveled to get the best bait for us to use for fishing. When we wrapped up our day, he cleaned our fish and referred us to a great place that would cook them up for us. Phenomenal place to eat. All around it was a fun experience, one we will never forget. Much appreciated.

Vacation charter for dinner.

3 Hour Fishing Trip on June 18, 2025 • 3 adults

Before our trip Captain Cody kept in good communication with me. On trip day, Captain Cody was on time and gave great directions on where to meet him. On our trip was my 70 year old father and my 17 year old daughter as well as myself. Captain Cody was great with all of us. He took us to a popular fishing spot and we caught a dinners worth of Black Drum. A storm developed while we fished and Captain Cody asked if we had the time to wait it out. His boat and gear all performed great. We had a great trip and highly recommend Tail Finders with Captain Cody.

Great day on the water.

5 Hour Trip (AM) on June 2, 2025 • 4 adults

Caught the limit and had a great trip out. Captain was on point for good spots and no wasted time trying to find bait fish. Captain came prepped with everything we needed and we hit the water straight out. Took some time to warm up but capt moved when it was dry until we hit a good run.
