PV Sail, Fishing & Tours runs angling trips out of Puerto Vallarta, a top-notch dream destination for anglers of all levels!
The Captain and crew will go above and beyond to tailor your private charter to your specific needs, so let them know what you’re after. Depending on the trip and species, you’ll be using techniques like light and heavy tackle trolling and jigging. You’re looking at 4 to 8-hour trips, where you’ll usually go after the likes of Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Jack Crevalle, and Amberjack, depending on the length of the trip and time of year.
Your boat for the day will be a comfortable 34’ Bertram that fits up to 6 anglers at any one time. The boat comes with a toilet, ice box, and fighting chair. The price of your trip includes all the rods, reels, and terminal tackle you’ll need for a productive day on the water.
The Captain runs trips together with his first mate, who’s there to help you with whatever you need. Tips are customary and always appreciated for a job well done. No need to worry about fishing licenses, as they will be provided and handled by the charter. You can keep anything you catch as long as it’s legal to do so.
Want to bring the rest of the family along for the ride? Kids are welcome aboard, so you’re free to make it a family adventure. Snorkeling equipment is available upon request and included in the price.

What a pleasant day out fishing on the Pacific Ocean!
3/4 Day Trip – Bay Fishing on October 29, 2025 • 5 adults
The crew worked hard. We had our live bait before we were out of the Puerto Vallarta Marina. The artificial lures were out behind the boat before we were out of the mouth of the marina and we caught our first Spanish Mackerel within five minutes. We caught a bunch of Mackerel. A little further out and we were catching Bonita. Our arms were getting tired from reeling in so many fish. Dorado were not biting that day but the crew were really working hard trying to make it happen. Nacho was our captain; Jhohan(sp?) and Irving were our very capable first mates. Jhohan made some great tasting cerciche using the fresh Mackerel - what a treat! It was a great day of fishing. We were out for a six hour trip this day and I’d go out again for an eight hour trip in a heartbeat looking for the bigger fish. The day was beautiful and the Pacific was calm. Top Gun and it’s crew got the job done!

Booking was easy. Noe sent frequent messages to keep us informed before the trip. Captain Pablo met us on the dock early and first Mate Maykl was ready to go.
Boat is clean. We caught fish immediately and Maykl turned a few into amazing Ceviche. We were stuffed by the time we arrived back at dock.
They filleted one fish and we took to local restaurant to prepare delicious fish tacos.
This was perfect for our family, ages 10-74.

Great boat and awesome Capitan and crew.
We were heavy into Bonitas, until we couldn't reel any longer! Captain Nacho and crew, Jhoan and Noė worked hard to get us into Dorados, and their hard work paid off time and again, including a double Dorado hook-up. Fresh crevice finished a perfect day!

The trip was great. The guys were very responsive. They change the gear a minimum of three times depending on the situation at the time. We did great caught some gargantuan amber jack and five or six Spanish mackerel. What a day nacho and the boys took care of everything.
