Running angling trips out of St. Johns, Old Salt Charters invites you to check out the local fishery in style.

Capt. Douglas Cole aims to tailor every trip to your specific needs, so let him know what you're after! Depending on the trip and species, you'll be using techniques like bottom fishing, drift fishing, jigging, popping, and spinning. You're looking at 3 to 8-hour trips, where you'll usually go after the likes of Redfish, Flounder, Trout,

Shark, Bluefish, and Black Drum, depending on the weather and time of year.

You'll be fishing from a 19' Action Craft boat with enough room for up to 3 anglers at any single time. It also includes an ice box.

The price of your trip includes all the rods, reels, and terminal tackle you'll need for a productive day on the water. As for fishing licenses, everything will be taken care of by the captain, so you don't have to worry about it.

You'll be able to keep any legal species caught during the trip. The boat will be supplied with drinks for your pleasure. Be sure to let the captain know if you have any questions or want to bring your own.

Memory making adventure

This was the first charter for my 12-year-old son. Recently he has become very interested in fishing and this trip spurred the interest even more. Captain Cole was awesome dealing with him and very patient. My son caught 8 or 10 fish and every one of them was exciting. We caught red, mangrove snapper, catfish, sea bass, toadfish, and a stingray. I highly recommend using Captain Cold and old salt charters. We will definitely rebook our next visit. Reservations were easy to make, payment was an easy transaction, Captain Cold was prompt and responded to questions very quickly. Very professional and kind.

Captian Cole was On it!

Captain Cole was on it! started the morning right on time which is always a huge plus. My wife and I had a wonderful time and we learned all about the Florida Coastal fishing and how to catch reds in the oyster flats. Cole is wonderful captial and guide, everything was straitfoward, easy and exciting. would definitely recommend and I plan on coming back in the Spring!

St. Augustine Fishing Trip

Captain Cole was accommodating to my girlfriend's shellfish allergy. We were unsure how she would react to contact with live shellfish. He took precautions to keep us from finding out. He did what he could to keep us out of the storms so that we could stay on the water fishing. My girlfriend was able to catch her first Redfish. He recommended us taking the fish to the Blackfly for dinner, and it made for a great end to our fishing experience.

Fishing experience worth every penny and minute!!!

3 Hour Trip – Inshore (PM) on March 25, 2025 • 2 adults • 1 child

Yesterday we had 3 hours family fishing with captain Cole - it was a blast!!! Captain knew all the spots with different types of fish, we explored all and tried a lot! Even caught baby shark! As all three of us had different experience level, captain was attentive to each of us and helped according to the needs. So much fun and great experience. We’ll be coming back! Absolutely recommend making it!!!

Fantastic Trip with Cptn Cole

Late afternoon 3 hour on February 15, 2025 • 2 adults • 1 child

My kids and I chartered an inshore fishing trip with Cptn Cole and it was awesome! He knew exactly where to go to catch Redfish (our choice). He was so patient with all of us and even mentioned how he loves to work with kids. We caught 7 redfish (5 were keepers) and a trout. It was the highlight of our trip and will definitely book with him again when we get back to St Augustine.
