Boat is a 31 Stamas, a very sturdy comfortable vessel with (private bathroom) onboard. Wheelchair accessible with plenty of room to move around. Service animals are welcome too!

Wet Tails Charters was created to share our knowledge of offshore fishing in the Florida Keys with you! Not only do we offer charter fishing services, but in our off time, you'll often find us fun fishing with our friends and family. Fishing is in our blood!

Around here, it's common to catch Snapper, Sailfish, Blackfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, King Mackerel, Grouper, and more, depending on the time of year. On these trips, the captain will take you for a short ride into the Great Florida Reef, where you'll be bottom fishing and/or trolling in the crystal clear waters of the Florida Keys to hook your fish.

Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Some essentials to bring are snacks, drinks, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. ( Bathroom equipped! )

Capt Ed and First mate Ian were absolutley excellent. both as friendly as could be and asked us what WE wanted to do. So they followed our wishes and we proceeded to load the boat with Yellowfin Jacks and Mango Snappers. actually probably brougjt back too much as we had over 60 pounds fileted after cleaning. The boat is perfect for this area. in excellent shape, fast and everything works great. could not ask for a better trip.

We had 6 in our family outing, from 10 - 72 yrs old. Each of us rated the trip 5+. From the moment we met at the dock, Captiain Ed and Ian were personable and focused on us having an enjoyable and successful fishing trip. That we did! They were always there with new bait, gave clear and calm instructions for landing the fish, helped land when needed, and were especially good with our 10 and 13 year old guys. They not only helped us catch fish, we had great conversation with them. We felt safe and comfortable on their boat. Not only would we go with them again, and plan on it, we've already recommended them to 3 others. There was nothing about this trip that could have been better. We caught enough fish to have a meal for 6 at LazyDays (bring your catch), 2 meals home cooked, and packages to ship home. Thank you Captain Ed & Ian for making this the highlight of our trip to Marathon!! We will see you again.

Never Give In

Captain Ed and first mate Ian are true professionals that never give up. A beautiful day on the water but no boats were getting any action. Ed and Ian continued to strategize and change approaches and locations until we got on the fish. Even keeping us out a few hours past our booked time limit to make sure we had a great time and caught all the fish we could eat once we got on them. On a day when most captains were throwing in the towel, Captain Ed made it happen! I have fished for multiple years in marathon and finally found the right outift with Wet Tails. Honest, Generous, kind, and great company. I cannot recommend them enough. Well done!

I booked a half-day fishing charter with Wet Tails Charter and it was easily one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived at the dock, Captain Ed and the crew were professional, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. The boat was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with all the necessary gear. Captain Ed knew exactly where to take us—we were reeling in fish within the first 30 minutes! We caught a mix of mangrove snapper, yellow tail snapper, yellow jacks, grouper, and even hooked some tarpon, which was a huge thrill. The crew was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, especially for those of us who aren’t expert anglers. They patiently helped us with baiting, casting, and gave us tips throughout the trip. They even filleted the fish for us at the end and gave some great recommendations for local restaurants that would cook our catch. It was a fun, stress-free, and memorable experience. Highly recommend this charter for anyone looking to enjoy a great day of fishing, whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro. Can’t wait to go again next season!

Great 40th bday present!!!!!

I took my boyfriend on this trip for his 40th birthday. Even though the captain previously had trouble with his boat, he drove seven hours each way to obtain a boat and make sure we had something for our charter. Captain Ed and his first mate Ian were so incredibly knowledgeable about everything! My boyfriend is a long time fisherman from New Jersey, and even he was impressed by the equipment and their knowledge. I don’t particularly enjoy fishing, but I had a great time. We even saw a pretty big pod of dolphins. I can’t thank them enough for making his 40th birthday surprise such an amazing success!!’
