There’s a fish with your name on it in Jan Thiel and Wazapap Private Charters will help you catch it! Captain David will be your guide, giving you access to years of angling experience.
Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Great Barracuda, and more can be found in these waters, depending on the season. On these trips, you can expect to troll.
Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board.
Your day begins aboard a 44’ Luhrs convertible with a capacity for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers and all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates often work for tips and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
Before coming aboard, you may need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It’s recommended to bring sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks provided on board as well as bbq on some trips.

🌊 Unforgettable Fishing Trip

We had an absolutely amazing day out on the water with the What Ap Ap fishing charter in Curaçao! From start to finish, everything was top-notch.
Captain and Alex were both fantastic—super friendly, professional, and clearly experienced. Their knowledge of the waters and fishing techniques made the whole trip smooth and exciting. They really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time.
🎣 The catch? We reeled in 3 barracudas and 4 tunas — an unforgettable experience! The thrill of the fight and the crew’s guidance made it even better.
The boat itself is very comfortable, clean, and well-equipped — plenty of space to relax between bites. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a first-time fisherman, this crew will make sure you’re well taken care of.

Captain David and his deck hand Alan are AWESOME they are both extremely knowledgeable and answer every question instantly and with a smile regardless of if it pertains to fishing or not hahaha
This was my very first time fishing the ocean much less on a charter and they were both very helpful and hospitable
Took this trip on my honeymoon and I did all of the fishing and captain david kept my wife entertained and kept a smile on her face on the top deck all day
If you’re looking for a charter that’s going to be everything you are hoping for this your boat if I ever come back to Curacao I will definitely be booking again!

great fishing trip

David was a great captain. He put us on fish right away. I was feeling a little seasick so he moved inshore for a while targeting Wahoo, until I felt better. Allan was a great crew member. He handled everything in the back of the boat. rigging baits, setting the lines, help hold the rod and pulled in every fish. The boat is beautiful. We ended landing 9 Tuna, 1 Mahi mahi and even had a blue Marlin hit one of our lines, but lost it. I would highly recommend this character service to anyone wanting to catch fish and have a great time.

David and Allen were wonderful. They picked us up at Sandals which was great. We started fishing as soon as we were out of bay and hooked the first fish. Trip started off great then the wife got seasick. Allen kept a bucket with water for her and kept the lines in the water for me. Unfortunately we had to cut the trip short since my wife didn't get better. But I did get a a nice yellowtail on the way in.
If I'm ever back in Curacao, I will definitely contact David for another fishing trip . I'll leave my wife at the hotel the next time though.

You never really know what you’re going to get when booking a fishing charter online, but I have to admit—Captain David and Alex exceeded expectations. They were incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and well-prepared. Drinks were ready on deck, and they took the time to teach both me and my 9-year-old son how to fish in Curaçao. We ended up catching five fish and had five more bites that got away—10 in total. Overall, a great experience. Highly recommend!
