Drifter Excursions welcomes you to the stunning waters of Hilton Head Island.
These waters are known for Blacktip, Bonnethead, Bull, Hammerhead, and Lemon Sharks, Whiting, Redfish and more – with any luck, they’ll make your reel scream. On the day of your trip, you’re likely to bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Any fish caught on these trips will be released.
You’ll be casting lines from a 25’ Center console. The Ricochet is a Coast Guard-inspected vessel that is licensed to take up to 12 passengers. On these trips, up to 10 guests are allowed for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter. Capt. Jennifer is happy to have kids aboard, so feel free to make a family day out of it!
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. A 20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work. There’s no need to buy a fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip!
A few items to bring include snacks, drinks, sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), and a hat. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

We went out for a bachelorette party, a group of 7 girls. It was the highlight of our weekend get away! We all got to reel in a shark each and even had a few break the line! We left definitely wishing we did 3 hours! I would recommend this to any family, group of friends or even just a couple wanting to catch some sharks! We got 2 black tips, 1 Atlantic point nose and 4 hammerheads! Ricky and the captain were amazing and so engaging while being very hands on! “ GET IT RICKY” we will hands down be back!

We went with a bunch of kids and I asked if we could go for catchable fish to eat instead of shark. Jen said it was no problem at all. All 9 of us caught at least 1 Whiting fish and we had a blast. I think we got over 20 in the 3 hours we booked. There’s no limit or size for whiting so we had enough to have a fun fry. Thanks again Jen.

We were visiting Tybee island and decided to go on a shark fishing trip while we were there but couldn’t find a boat that could take all 8 of us out at once so we booked with them at Hilton Head and made the drive. It was worth the trip! We caught several different kinds of sharks and the kids and adults all had a good time despite the intense heat today. We even saw some dolphins on the way back to the marina. The crew was super friendly and knowledgable. We would book again.

Captain Jennifer & Ricky were absolutely incredible! So patient, kind & thoughtful. They made sure everyone (including the 6 kids we brought) felt success on this charter! The time was absolutely perfect! 2 hours was great for the kiddos! Obviously adults could have gone longer, but it was a perfect intro to fishing for them! We cannot say enough positive about this experience and everyone said it was the highlight of the 7 day trip to Hilton head! 🎣
