Als je klaar bent om te vissen in Sooke, hoef je niet verder te zoeken dan Tips Up Sport Fishing Charters. Je gids voor de dag is schipper Eugene Baldwin, wat betekent dat je profiteert van jarenlange viservaring.
Chinook Zalm, Coho Zalm, Bultrug Zalm, Heilbot, Rockfish, Groenling (Lingcod) en meer zijn te vinden in deze wateren als je op het juiste moment van het jaar komt. Op de dag van je trip ga je waarschijnlijk trollen en bodemvissen met licht of zwaar materiaal.
Wil je met het hele gezin naar buiten? Kinderen zijn absoluut welkom! Vraag zeker of er zwemvesten op kindermaat beschikbaar zijn, anders moet je je eigen zwemvesten meenemen. Snacks zijn nooit een slecht idee, zodat niemand chagrijnig wordt met een lege maag!
Schipper Eugene neemt je mee aan boord van een 26' aluminium vissersboot die 4 passagiers kan vervoeren. De boot heeft downriggers en alle benodigdheden. Er is een toilet aan boord voor je gemak. Je schipper zorgt voor hengels en molens, evenals kunstaas.
Trips worden uitgevoerd met hulp van een eerste maat. Een fooi van 10-20% is gebruikelijk om je waardering te tonen voor hun harde werk. Voordat je aan boord komt, is het noodzakelijk om een lokale visvergunning te kopen voor iedereen in je groep, inclusief zalmstempels. Deze informatie is meestal online beschikbaar, of je kunt het aan de schipper vragen. Sommige soorten kunnen beschermd zijn of een tag vereisen om ze te mogen houden, dus zorg ervoor dat je weet wat je kunt verwachten.

Captain Eugene was a great captain, knew what he was doing and had a great boat. 30 minutes into the trip and we already had a Salmon on board! Over the course of the day had many other bites while experiencing all sorts of weather changes, Eugene safely navigated all of it. By the end of the day our whole group got a salmon on board and we’re happy to find crab in our traps too! Had quite the feast that night. Would recommend Tips Up charter to anyone!

My 15yo son and I showed up with no equipment and NO know-how either. 😆
Eugene and his wife and partner Jackie (7 months pregnant and still fishing like a champ) are both experts and a pair of absolute BEAUTY human beings! They were very patient and kind with their instructions and they shared knowledge freely. We had a fantastic time and I could not recommend them strongly enough. We caught more fish than I even hoped for, and I will definitely book with them again in the future. They are well versed in all fishery regulations as well and will keep you legal too.
Personal note: I need to bring a bigger cooler for all the fish next time!!
Their patient approach to instruction bears mentioning a second time - my son and I were a bit nervous and uncertain at first but their kind and welcoming nature made us feel comfortable very quickly.
They had so much fun teaching my son they offered him a job! LOL
They take younger kids too if you are looking for a charter for the whole family.
Also, if it matters to you (it does to me) their boat is VERY professionally outfitted for charter fishing. But - word to the wise - you might want to buy a boat like theirs afterwards lololol !!! Sign up with Tip’s Up! You will not regret it.

If the above statement is true what’s better than a good day fishing? I honestly don’t know!
Captain Eugene delivered the goods! We had an absolutely fantastic day on the water with him, his first mate and “second” mate to be. They are a great team and worked amazing together to keep us on the fish. They take pride in being safe on the water and their boat is beautiful. We had a very comfortable day on the water, but the best part… We were tips up all day! We caught a great selection of salmon and we all got our limits. I can’t wait to get back out there to do it all over again!

Six hour fishing charter

Absolutely fantastic days fishing… Eugene is very knowledgeable of the area & was great with both myself & my son guiding us on what we should be doing to ensure results. We had a mix of Coho / Chinook salmon & managed to catch two salmon over 20bls which made my sons day as it was a personal best for him. I would highly recommend this charter to anyone looking for a days fishing in Sooke.

I highly recommed Eugene and his boat for fishing charter in Victoria. Super nice and knowledgeable guy. We enjoyed his company as much as we enjoyed the fishing experience. Eugene goes far and beyond to make the experience memorable. We got very nice saon that we were excited about and lots of crab too. I highly recommend Eugene for fishing trips.

Captain Eugene delivered the goods! We had an absolutely fantastic day on the water with him, his first mate and “second” mate to be.
