If you’re ready to get hooked on fishing in Rockport, we’ve got you covered with Barnard’s Guide Service. With Captain Tommy at the helm, you’re in knowledgeable and experienced hands with 37 years of guiding clients.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Black Drum, Redfish.On these trips, it’s common to bottom fish using light tackle. Fish caught during the trip are yours to take home, so long as they’re within the legal limit. The captain can even clean your catch for you. Have a cooler ready in the car!
Capt. Tommy runs a 22’ Aweld boat that holds up to 4 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, as well as lures & fresh bait.
Trips with Barnard’s Guide Service are great for kids, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. A few items to bring include snacks, drinks, sunglasses, a hat, and sunblock (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
You might need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.

2nd Three brothers fishing trip!
We picked Tommy Barnards to be our guide because we enjoyed our time fishing with him about six months ago. And once again we were not disappointed! Tommy put us on the fish again! He is very funny! and it makes the whole experience better! We will definitely come back again soon, and would totally recommend him for any of my friends or family! already looking forward to our next trip! Thank you!!

BIG Fish
If you’re looking for that BIG one that got away then Captain Tommy can help you find it! We had such a great time on our fishing trip today and caught several big red fish with one of them requiring a tag. He knows the area extremely well and has a boat that can reach very shallow waters to put you right on the big ones. Give Tommy a try and guaranteed you won’t be disappointed.

Reel, reel, reel, reel, reel, PULL OUT!!!
First off let me say that Captain Tommy was communicative, on-time, and prepared. We wasted no time at the dock, and his boat was clean, and equipped with everything you need on a fishing boat. Captain Tommy was easy goin, friendly, and his warm smiled felt as if we've known him for years. We caught our limit in no time and was back home the same morning to take a nap. We want to thank Captain Tommy for a GREAT experience and we will never forget, "Reel, reel, reel, reel, reel, PULL OUT!!

A Lifelong Memory Made
Tommy was an excellent fishing guide. He was respectful and patient while working with my 10 year old son. He is very knowledgeable and hardworking, which in turn created a lifelong memory for myself and son. Would recommend the early fishing trip for cool weather, to beat the sunburn! Tommy takes the time and extra effort to get you to the “flats” where we were able to meet our limit in short order. If you are looking for an expert fisherman and want to have a memorable time, Tommy is the perfect guide for you.

3 day trip, every day was 5 star - so Capt Tommy gets a 15 star review. He is very knowledgeable and kind. My wife came along with all her questions and he taught her much, Tommy was patient and instructive all 3 days. We caught fish every day, he knows what he is about and I hope to be able to fish with him again soon.
