Crab Burner Charters offers trips for the entire family, the “kids fishing trios are great for first timers and young kids that want to learn about the bay and some fish and crabs they may catch along the way.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. Also, remember to bring snacks!
Capt. Mason welcomes you aboard a 27’ 271 Coastal Skiff with space for 6 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. All the gear and tackle you need is provided.
It’s customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Some fish and crabs have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain. Some essentials to bring are sunglasses and sunblock. Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

We have three young kids (8/5/2). Mason did a great job on there first fishing trip. We caught fish the whole time as Mason is local to the area and knows the best locations and can adapt based on conditions. Mason was personable, attentive and a great Captain for the kids. Couldn’t recommend him more for a family and/or a few adults who want to catch some fish/crabs for a few hours and enjoy a good boat ride around the Rehoboth Bay.

Excellent Adventure for a Family

This was my kids’ first time on the water albeit they fish around ponds and lakes all the time. Captain Mason was EXCELLENT with our kids! He pulled out all the tricks to make sure they caught fish (perch, spot, croaker and even a blue crab!) and had lots of laughter all evening. Mason shared a ton of local insight and had a great personality to engage my kids. Wonderful trip and I will not only highly recommend but plan to come again to go for crabs!

He went above and beyond with the boys—super knowledgeable, patient, and really took the time to teach them all about crabbing and fishing. The kids loved getting up close with the crabs and learning the ropes, and Mason made the entire trip fun, educational, and exciting.
He specializes in kids fishing trips, and you can really tell he loves what he does. The boys are already talking about our next trip with him—we will definitely be back again soon!

We had the most amazing time on our very first fishing trip with our little ones, and it was all thanks to Mason! As first-time fishers with a three-year-old and a one-year-old in tow, we weren’t quite sure what to expect but Mason made the entire experience smooth, fun, and memorable.
He was incredibly patient and kind, taking the time to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand. What really stood out was how wonderful he was with our kids, especially helping our older son work through his fear of fish and crabs. By the end of the trip, our son was smiling, curious, and even excited to hold a crab!
If you're in Dewey Beach and thinking about a family-friendly fishing adventure, I can’t recommend Mason enough. He’s knowledgeable, great with kids, and clearly loves what he does. We’ll definitely be booking another trip with him in the future!

I recently went on a morning fishing trip that exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we boarded, our captain made us feel welcome with his great personality and vast knowledge of the area. He was attentive and ensured everyone on the boat was having a fantastic time.
We caught a lot of fish, which made the experience even more thrilling! What surprised me the most was my daughter, who wasn’t initially keen on going, ended up having such a blast that she asked if we could go again the very next day! That says it all about the awesome time we had.
If you’re looking for a fun and memorable fishing adventure, I highly recommend this boat and crew! You won’t regret it!
