Boek je volgende trip met J. Young Outdoors en ontdek waar het vissen in Noord-Michigan om draait. Schipper Jordan heeft zijn hele leven gevist op Lake Michigan (Traverse City, Frankfort, Leland) en de omliggende binnenwateren, en kan je precies vertellen waar en wanneer het beste moment is voor elk type en elke soort. Schipper Jordan is een USCG Master 100Ton Captain.
Op zijn prachtige Key West kun je verwachten naar de beste visgronden in de omgeving te gaan. De Key West Center Console is uiterst comfortabel en luxe.
Afhankelijk van de soort die je wilt vangen, kun je jezelf trollen of jiggen vinden. Zalm, Amerikaanse Meerforel en Regenboogforel zijn de soorten die het meest op deze boot worden gevist. Schipper Jordan biedt ook cast fishing/trollen aan voor Snoek, Baars, Breedbekbaars, Panfish en vele andere binnenwater soorten, afhankelijk van het seizoen. Hij biedt eersteklas hengels en molens die specifiek zijn ingesteld voor elke soort. Schipper Jordan is veelzijdig in vele soorten zoetwatervissen en heeft de juiste boot voor elk water en elke viswens.
Gezinnen zullen blij zijn te horen dat kinderen welkom zijn aan boord! Schipper Jordan geeft de voorkeur aan dat je je eigen goed passende zwemvesten voor kinderen meeneemt, maar kan ze ook verstrekken met een beschrijving van de maat van je kind.
Je boot voor de dag is een Key West Center Console met ruimte voor maximaal 5 passagiers. Hij is uitgerust met hengels/molens/downriggers en alle benodigdheden. Er is een privé console-ruimte aan boord voor je gemak en privacy. Je schipper zorgt voor al het benodigde vismateriaal. Je moet voor de trip een lokale visvergunning kopen.
Een paar dingen om mee te nemen zijn geschikte kleding, zonnebril en zonnebrandcrème. Er worden wat drankjes aangeboden, maar neem je eigen favorieten mee. Alcohol is toegestaan in matige hoeveelheden. Neem alsjeblieft je eigen eten mee voor de dag indien nodig. Er is een grote koelbox aan boord voor al je drankjes en eten.
Steun alsjeblieft je schipper en eventuele bemanning. Fooien worden gewaardeerd!

Unforgettable Charter with Captain Jordan Young

As a hospitality professional, I’ve always believed the fundamentals of hospitality come down to how you make people feel. Captain Jordan Young embodied that principle from start to finish. My brother and I instantly felt welcome — not just as customers, but as guests and fellow fishermen sharing a passion for the water.
Captain Young took the time to truly listen and tailor the trip around the kind of experience we were hoping for. He worked tirelessly the entire charter to put us in the best position to catch fish, adjusting with skill and precision throughout the afternoon. His knowledge of the local species, their habits, and the surrounding ecosystem made the trip exceptionally educational — and just plain fun to “talk shop” with him.
Beyond fishing, Captain Young’s local recommendations for food and drink were spot on, going far beyond the usual Google list. It’s rare to find someone who blends professionalism, passion, and genuine hospitality so seamlessly. We started the day with a captain and ended it with a comrade.
I highly recommend booking with Captain Jordan Young — and we’re already planning our next adventure: river fly fishing for salmon and steelhead. Can’t wait!

Awesome Day!
Big Water Salmon/Trout on September 27, 2025 • 2 adults
What a great way to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We had an absolute blast, caught 2 King and 2 Cisco on a tough day weather-wise. Our fellow anglers moved locations and Jordan was patient and persistent. He knows his stuff! When returning to the boat launch many others were left empty handed as they said “salmon were elusive” for the day. We heard a small number of Lake Trout, and one Cisco. We were happy with our catch thanks to Jordan.

Captain will put you on fish!
Big Water Salmon and Trout - 5:00 PM on August 5, 2025 • 3 adults
Showed up to the docks 10 mins early with my son and daughter and the captain was ready to head out. Caught a few lake trout in the first couple of hours. We told him we would like to catch salmon. He explained the bite for salmon was on around 9:30 to 10:30. Our booking was suppose to be over at 10:30. We steamed to where he new salmon were. My daughter hooked up around 9:45 just like the captain said. It was a 23 pound monster. Then 15 mins later my son hooked up to a 22 pounder. It was close to 10:30 and we were the only boat out there. Our captain wanted us to catch and I knew he had to get up at 3 am to meet his morning obligation. It I could tell he wanted to get me on one. Finally at 10:30 I told the captain that it was ok that we could go in. This captain knows his fishing spots and will put you on them. I highly recommend him and I will 100 percent use him again.

Thank you for the nice review. I’m glad we stuck to the plan and worked our way out in rough water to the trout grounds before heading down to the Salmon. Your kids did a great job on the rod and reels.

Awesome captain and great trip

This was our family first fishing trip on a charter boat as we celebrated my Bday. Captain Jordan was awesome! Communicated very well before the trip to make sure we know where to go and what to bring. Within a half hour after setting up our lines we had a huge salmon. Then we got a trout, salmon and another huge trout. At the end of our trip, Captain Jordan cut and cleaned the fish for us. My family and I had a blast and I would highly recommend Captain Jordan. Definitely would do it again.

Terrific Charter
Walleye - 6:30 AM on October 8, 2025 • 4 adults
This charter was a blast. We went out super early in the morning and couldn't get much luck on the walleye, but the Captain was well versed in the lake and was able to adapt. We switched our tactics and started nailing some really nice bass. Everyone on the trip caught 3-4 nice size bass, plus a few nice walleyes.
