If you’re ready to try fishing in Marathon, we’ve got you covered with Southern Sons Charters. Captain Josh will be your guide, which allows you to benefit from years of sportfishing experience.

Depending on the season, you might hook into Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Black Grouper, Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Sailfish, Mangrove Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Vermilion Snapper, Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, and whatever else takes the bait. On these trips, it’s common to troll and bottom fish using light tackle.

Capt. Josh will bring you aboard a 45 Hatteras Express that holds up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. The boat is spacious, very well maintained and clean. A perfect way to enjoy your day on the water! The boat has a full kitchen ,couch, comfortable couch in the salon and near the helm as well as AC throughout the salon and helm!! Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.

A 20–25% tip is customary to show your appreciation for the Capts hard work.

Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish. It’s recommended to bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
