Depending on the season, you might hook into Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Largemouth Bass, and whatever else takes the bait.

For these species, you’re likely to using light tackle.

Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also remember to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!

Your vessel for the day is a 21’ Bass boat with space for 4 passengers. It comes with and all the essentials.

Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, along with lures.

You might need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.

Some essentials to bring are bottled water, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Fun for the whole family!

Our guided fishing tour with Charlie was one to remember. Not only was my husband having fun living his best life, but our two kids aged 5 and 7 who aren't the best at sitting still were actively engaged and happy to be catching some fish. It was a relief to be able to fish without having to bait everyone's hook over and over again which is the role my husband usually takes and then fishing with the family is no longer enjoyable. Charlie was knowledgeable, helpful, and an enjoyable tour guide. Whenever we come back to Branson, we will definitely be getting in touch with Charlie for another fishing trip!

Thanks for amazing Family Trout outing!! The the kids were great!! I’m glad everybody enjoyed themselves and caught a lot of trout!!! The ride back was extremely fine. TROUT HEAVEN!! AWESOME CAPTAIN! BEST FISHING GUIDED TRIP EVER!

6 Hour Trip on July 26, 2025 • 4 adults

A life long friend of mine and his son along with me and my son got together after not seeing each other for a few years, in fact the last time the four us got together for a guys weekend and father son trip was with a fishing guide on a different lake which good ….BUT THIS TRIP WAS A DREAM!…even more fun than our last deep sea fishing trip in Florida…. Our guide made the trip what it was, in fact, it was just like being on the boat with another friend, he bated our hooks quickly while creating and maintaining great conversations, telling stories, just a great personality and one of the guys. He was so knowledgeable, a true professional and a sponsored fishing tournament champion a true professional. We had caught 20 beautiful fat juicy trout in the 2-3 hours on a 6 hour trip and 30 by the end of the trip!!! Our last 3 caught within 20-30 minutes of each other and are largest fish at the very end to close it out perfectly!! We had so many fish we had to throw 10-12 back due to trout limit per person. He cleaned the fish and we exchanged contact info to make sure we could contact him to be our guide on all future trips. TRULY A GREAT FATHERS, SONS FISHING TRIP!!! WILL BE A STORY WE TELL FOR YEARS TO COME!!! The guide who took us to trout heaven! Thanks Charlie!

Outstanding Morning on the Water with Charlie!

We had an excellent experience this morning with Charlie from On The Hook! From the start, Charlie was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and—most importantly—patient. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a complete beginner, he makes the experience fun and stress-free. Charlie’s attention to safety was clear from the get-go. It was a foggy morning, and he was very careful navigating through low visibility—constantly watching for other boats and making sure we were all safe. It made us feel confident and comfortable the whole time. Thanks to his expert guidance, we easily caught our daily limit and learned a lot along the way. His passion for fishing really shines through. Pro tip: When Charlie says it’ll be chilly in the morning, believe him—dress warm! Highly recommend booking with Charlie. We’ll definitely be back out there with him!

Wow! The Best Review I think I have ever had!! I am very Humbled:) Didn’t realize that I do all of that. It’s just second nature I guess!! Now Let’s get to the juice! Mikayla, Sherri and Eric wacked the trout from the first cast to the last!! Great Job. Sherri you and Eric were catching Mikayla in the end. Everytime I turned around Mikayla had one on!! Over 20 trout in 3 hrs of fishing!! Great Job! All 3 of you were trout pros’s by ending of our trip. The Haschke family even caught them site fishing at a rocky shoal we stopped at.!! Awesome Day on the Lake!

Captain Charlie was an amazing host, very competent guide and we caught a LOT of fish! The boat was 1st class (and fast!) and was equipped with every possible electronic and top rate fishing gear. Charlie had a great sense of humor and even laughed at most of my Minnesoooota jokes! I highly recommend Charlie and look forward to my next visit!
