On these trips, you can expect to troll using heavy tackle.

You’re free to keep some of the fish you catch, assuming they meet regulations. Catch cleaning is available, so you can take your fish home to eat. Pack a cooler ready in the car!

Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!

Your boat for the day is a 39’ Custom Crusader Downeast with space for 6 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Lew Childre has rods and reels for you.

A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. It’s customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.

The charter boat covers your fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.

Don’t leave home without a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
