You’re likely to go after Mangrove Snapper, Lane Snapper, Red Snapper, Vermilion Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Scamp Grouper, Red Grouper, Gag Grouper, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Cobia, Mahi, Sailfish and more if conditions are right. On these trips, it’s common to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.

If you’re traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are never a bad idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!

Your day begins aboard a 34’ Center console that can carry up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water.

You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.

You’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. It’s customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.

The charter boat covers your fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.

Don’t forget to bring a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunblock (non-spray). If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
