Calabash Fishing Fleet is a full-service charter company operating out of Calabash, NC. They own and operate a range of spacious, well-equipped charter vessels which can carry large groups out in search of even larger fish!

You will be spending the day aboard the “Miss Calabash”, a 46’ Atlantic fishing boat built in 1991 and powered by twin Cummins diesels up to a respectable 20 knots. The vessel is able to carry 16 anglers out in search of tasty fish and is loaded with tech and equipment to bring in the best of them once you’re in place. With Captain David at the helm, you’ll have a knowledgeable and experienced guide. He has 18 years of experience as a commercial fisherman. Most of those years as a commercial fishing Capt., six years as a charter Capt.

The vessel has GPS, fishfinder, and the experienced Captain Lee, who will use all these gadgets to make sure you stick to the best spots like glue. The boat has a livewell which you can load up with fresh live bait (caught on the trip) and quality Penn tackle to let you hold your own against whatever the ocean throws at you.

And that could be pretty much anything depending on where you fish. The Miss Calabash travels 60+ miles offshore on her longest runs, and even in the shallows, there are plenty of hard-fighting fish to choose from.

Inshore species include Seatrout, Flounder, Black Bass, and King Mackerel. Offshore, you could hook anything from big Grouper a

Great charter!
4 Hr/Half Day Trip (AM) on April 18, 20253 adults
Captain David was great. Took us out and had a fish on the hook 10 seconds after dropping the line. Managed the spots like a pro and moved us around to make sure my son and his friend had the best fishing. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our trip! Caught some interesting sea creatures and had a great time doing it. Captain David was helpful and informative throughout the travel. Small hiccup headed back with the boat. Just meant a slow ride back still enjoyable!

Captain was versed in fish and locations and aquatic changes necessary to make a fun trip. Although there was not the big ONE, we had plentiful catches and releases! It was a fun first trip off shore with teens!

BIG Catfish at night!
Gulf Stream on July 17, 20243 adults
Our group of three had a great time with Captain David. We chose a night trip and it was a decision we are glad we made! It was very windy and we decided to stay inshore and try for redfish, catfish, and alligator gar. We didn't see any redfish or gar, but man did we find the catfish! It started out slow and difficult with only my dad catching a little croaker to use for bait, but it made his day to catch the first fish. We moved to another spot but had trouble getting the anchor to set due to the wind and tides, but it finally hooked up with something solid and we started fishing again, though we were far from our desired spot. No luck though. We moved again and the wind calmed down enough to let us anchor where we wanted to. It was still slow but at 11:40pm we caught our first (and biggest) catfish. It was about 32" long and weighed just over 9lbs. Within the span of an hour we hooked four more, two which only made it to the side of the boat before throwing the hook. The two others we landed were 8 1/2 lbs and the smallest was 29" long. The last fish we hooked was around 12:30am. They were amazingly strong fighters too! Captain David was a great help getting us to the spots to fish and helping with preparing the bait and tackle. He is a very experienced fishing guide but has only been doing private charters for a short time. He did a great job in our opinion and would highly recommend his night trips!

I had a blast with you guys as well!! I’m hoping these night trips catch on. Maybe by next year I’ll have this gar fishing down!! Might have to break out the bow fishing apparel. You’re not the only one asking about that. Seems like it would be a blast. Looking forward to fishing with you again. Once again THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING KILL SHOT CHARTERS.
