Er zwemt een vis met jouw naam erop in Quepos en Wahoo Sport Fishing Quepos helpt je hem te vangen! Met kapitein Melvin aan het roer ben je in deskundige en ervaren handen.
Belangrijkste doelsoorten zijn Amberjack, Pacific Barracuda, Mahi Mahi, Broomtail Grouper, Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, zeilvis, geelvintonijn, wahoo, haanvis, snook en meer als de omstandigheden het toelaten. Je kunt verwachten te spinnen, te poppen, te trollen, te drijven, te jigging, op de bodem te vissen, of misschien iets meer gespecialiseerds in dit gebied. Kapt. Melvin biedt ook vliegvissen aan, maar je moet mogelijk je eigen vliegvisuitrusting meenemen. Voor de meer avontuurlijke onder jullie is er ook speervissen.
Kapt. Melvin gelooft erin om kinderen te leren vissen terwijl ze jong zijn, dus neem gerust het hele gezin mee! Kinderen moeten zwemvesten dragen, dus informeer of de juiste maat aan boord beschikbaar is. Snacks zijn ook een goed idee om energiek te blijven tijdens je tocht!
Kapt. Melvin vaart met een 24' center console met ruimte voor 4 passagiers. Het heeft alle essentiële zaken waar geen vissersboot zonder kan. Kapt. Melvin levert hengels en molens voor je, samen met kunstaas. Levend aas is beschikbaar, maar het is goed om hiernaar te vragen zodat je weet of je het zelf moet vangen.
Er zal een dekknecht aan boord zijn om je tocht soepel te laten verlopen. Het is gebruikelijk om de dekknecht 10–20% fooi te geven om je waardering te tonen.
Voordat je aan boord komt, moet je mogelijk een lokale visvergunning kopen voor iedereen in je groep. Deze informatie is meestal online beschikbaar, of je kunt het de kapitein vragen. Sommige soorten kunnen beschermd zijn of een label vereisen om ze te mogen houden, dus zorg ervoor dat je weet wat je kunt verwachten.
Het is nooit een slecht idee om een zonnebril, zonnebrandcrème (niet-spray) en een hoed mee te nemen. Er zullen wat drankjes beschikbaar zijn, maar laat de kapitein weten als je je eigen drankjes wilt meenemen. Alcohol is in matige hoeveelheden toegestaan, zolang je sterke drank en glazen flessen vermijdt. Er zal eten en wat lichte snacks aan boord zijn inbegrepen.

Best fishing experience!
Half Day Trip – Inshore op April 9, 2026 • 4 volwassenen
We booked this half-day trip for my son’s 14th birthday, and it was absolutely perfect! Captain Melvin and first mate Christian went above and beyond to make the day special. They were patient, knowledgeable, and kept the energy high the whole time. My son landed his first mahi-mahi and sailfish, which are moments he’ll never forget!
The boat was spotless, the equipment was top-notch, and everything ran smoothly. It was the perfect mix of excitement and fun. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable fishing experience from Quepos, Costa Rica. 🎣

Great Day With Captain Adril and Esteban
Full Day Trip – Offshore op February 18, 2026 • 2 volwassenen
We fished offshore with Captain Adril and first mate Esteban last week and had an excellent trip. We hooked 4 sailfish and landed three. The fourth went crazy and airborne 30 feet behind the boat and broke off. The crew worked hard to hook every fish that came into our spread. This was a smaller boat but was well equipped. There were plenty of soft drinks, water, snacks and excellent sandwiches. Esteban even cut up an ice cold pineapple for us. This was a great experience for my son-in-laws first offshore trip. I highly recommend Wahoo Sportfishing, Captain Adril and first mate Esteban.

It was a pleasure and great experience chartering with wahoo sport fishing out of MARINA Pez Vela on February 15, 2026
Captain Andrew and mate Greibin were very knowledgable of the fishing grounds from catching bait fish to landing three different species of fish. This was a very hands-on charter for my wife and myself and extremely happy on the entire trip… from the cold beverages to the mid afternoon, fruit, snacks, and of course, catching snook, rooster, fish, and catfish. I definitely recommend Wahoo Sportfishing for a day out on the water!

Great day fishing in Quepos
Half Day Trip – Inshore PM op January 15, 2026 • 3 volwassenen
We are inexperienced fishermen and booked a half day afternoon inshore trip with Captain Melvin’s boat Wahoo and his crew, Adriel and Zachary. We met Captain Melvin at the pier, and had a little trouble finding the right spot - it is not at Marina Pez Vela but keep going down the same road to the very end. Adriel and Zachary did a great job setting us up and we went out and caught four Amber Jack right away. Next we moved to a different spot and caught a Spanish Mackerel. After that, we trolled along the beach and caught two Rooster fish. Had a nice snack with fresh pineapple and then headed back to the dock at 5. We had a great time and really appreciate our crew. Highly recommend the experience and we will book again next time.

Great Fishing, Great Crew, Even Better Day
3/4 Day Trip – Inshore op January 4, 2026 • 2 volwassenen
I had an amazing fishing trip today after chartering this boat for just me and my girlfriend with the goal of targeting roosterfish. The crew was on it from the very start — we were the first boat out of the harbor and the first to reach the baitfish grounds, which really set the tone for the day.
The fish were biting all day long. A lot got off, but that was on me, not the crew! Thanks to their experience and guidance, I still managed to land two solid roosters. These guys absolutely know what they’re doing and will put you on fish.
On top of the great fishing, the hospitality was outstanding. There were plenty of beers and cold drinks, loads of snacks throughout the day, and fresh pineapple served on board — honestly some of the best pineapple I’ve ever had.
As if that wasn’t enough, we were treated to seeing dolphins on two separate occasions and even spotted turtles, which made the trip even more special.
I would highly recommend these guys to anyone looking for a top-tier fishing experience. Very experienced crew, great vibes, and an unforgettable day on the water. 🎣🐬
