Kapitein Zac Horrocks is een door NYS erkende gids en zevende generatie Adirondacker die zijn hele leven al vist in de wateren van de Adirondacks en al meer dan 19 jaar als gids werkt in het gebied. Hij heeft ervaring met het begeleiden van trips over de hele wereld - waaronder Martha's Vineyard, Alaska, Japan, Belize en Mexico - en heeft van elke plek kennis meegenomen om een unieke ervaring te creëren in de Adirondacks. De klanten van Zac krijgen toegang tot de meren vanaf een 22' Blazer Bay, uitgerust met alles wat nodig is om van een dag op het water te genieten.
Of je nu een ervaren visser bent of dit je eerste keer vissen is, schipper Zac zal de ervaring afstemmen op de vaardigheden en voorkeuren van elke groep.
Tijdens je trip kun je mogelijk Amerikaanse Meerforel, Bronforel, Regenboogforel, Kleinbekbaars, Forelbaars, Amerikaanse Gele Baars, Amerikaanse Zeebaars, Sunfish, Amerikaanse Zonnebaars, Snoek en meer vangen, afhankelijk van het meer en het seizoen.
De vismethoden kunnen spinvissen, vliegvissen, trollen, driftvissen, jiggen, bodemvissen en popping omvatten, afhankelijk van je voorkeuren en wat schipper Zac denkt dat je die dag/tijd/locatie de beste kans geeft.
Kinderen zijn altijd welkom aan boord! Kinderen moeten zwemvesten dragen.
Schipper Zac zorgt voor:
• hengels en molens (vlieg en spin)
• kunstaas
• vliegen
• aas
• zwemvesten
• flessenwater
Wat je mee moet nemen:
• NYS visvergunning (kan online of bij het gemeentehuis worden gekocht)
• zonnebrandcrème
• hoed en zonnebril
• lunch/snacks
• drinken (verantwoorde alcoholconsumptie is toegestaan)

A Great Time with Capt. Zac

I booked a fishing outing with Zac Horrocks for my family during our stay in Lake Placid and we could not have been happier with the experience. Capt. Zac was a fantastic guide and was amazing working with our kids who have very limited fishing experience. He knew exactly where to take us on the lake for non-stop action that my son loved. Capt. Zac was even able to teach my daughter how to cast her own line for the first time and convince her to hold one of the fish she caught! I would recommend Capt. Zac to anyone interested in a fishing trip that will make memories for years to come and inspire kids to continue experiencing the great outdoors!

Amazing Guide and Trip

We had a fantastic trip with Zac. His knowledge of Lake Placid and fishing more generally was immediately apparent as soon as we stepped on the boat. He was extremely flexible and responsive regarding booking questions in advance of our trip. We also really appreciate his mission: helping to preserve Lake Placid’s serene environment and native ecosystem, through teaching local children and conducting outreach to government officials in hopes of generating support for the cause. We can’t wait for our next trip and would encourage anyone in the area to join Zac on the beautiful Lake Placid for an incredible fishing experience.

We had a great day out with Zac, fishing for bass and pike on the lakes around Saranac. He is a professional, well-organized guide. He is high-energy and very personable. I think he can easily work with all levels of ability. And I got the impression that he guides the family whose kids catch fish with worms for the first time to the guy that can cast a fly 60 feet off the bow of a flats boat. Super great time with Zac and look forward to lake trout fishing in the spring next year.

We had an amazing day out on Lake Placid with Captain Zac! We brought three kids (15, 12, and 5) and from start to finish, he made the trip a blast. He was incredibly laid-back, patient, and knowledgeable - the perfect mix for keeping everyone engaged. He put us right on the fish, and we caught so many it felt more like a catching trip than a fishing trip! The kids gave Captain Zac a rating of 109/10, and we have to agree - absolutely unforgettable experience!

Great fishing trip!

We can’t say enough positive things about our trip with Captain Zac. His knowledge of the area and extensive fishing experience made for a memorable trip for our family. My two sons had different fishing backgrounds. One barely fished and the other is a fishing enthusiast. He was able to give each a fishing day at each of their levels. Both caught multiple fish. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the lake. We would highly recommend him to anyone.
