Species like Amberjack, Black Drum, Bonito, Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Mangrove Snapper, Red Snapper, Vermilion Snapper, Gray Triggerfish, and more could be biting, depending on the time of year. During the trip you might be light tackle fishing, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

Reel Steel Charters welcomes kids aboard, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. You’re welcome to bring snacks to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!

You’ll be casting lines from a 28’ Parker pilothouse with a capacity for 6 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels. Live bait is available, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.

You’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.

There’s no need to buy a fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.

Some essentials to bring are bottled water, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
