Als je klaar bent om te gaan vissen in Walker, hoef je niet verder te zoeken dan Dick's Guide Service. Met schipper Dick aan het roer heb je een deskundige en ervaren gids.
Deze wateren staan bekend om Breedbekbaars, Muskellunge (Amerikaanse Snoek) en meer – met een beetje geluk duurt het niet lang voordat je 'beet' hebt! Op deze trips wordt er vaak getrolld.
Je avontuur begint aan boord van een 20' Alumacraft aluminium visboot met ruimte voor 4 passagiers. De boot heeft alle benodigdheden. Schipper Dick zorgt voor hengels en molens, evenals kunstaas. Levend aas is beschikbaar, maar vraag er zeker naar zodat je weet of je het zelf moet vangen.
Voordat je aan boord komt, moet je een lokale visvergunning kopen voor iedereen in je groep. Deze informatie is meestal online beschikbaar, of je kunt het aan de schipper vragen. Sommige soorten mogen niet gevangen worden of vereisen een speciale vergunning, dus zorg ervoor dat je weet wat je kunt verwachten.
Vergeet niet om flessenwater, zonnebrandcrème (niet-spray) en een zonnebril mee te nemen. Alcohol is in beperkte mate toegestaan, maar probeer sterke drank en glazen flessen te vermijden.

Walleye fishing on Leech Lake

4 of us went walleye fishing with Captain Dick for 4 hours on Leech Lake at the end of July. We had been warned that walleyes had been tough for the previous couple of weeks. That proved to be true. We had a few hits but only got one in the boat. Captain Dick was great. A couple of our group were pretty inexperienced and he worked hard to keep their lines baited and suggested tips as well. He also pointed out about a half dozen spots on the lake we might like to try fishing for bass or panfish with the grandkids. We followed his suggestion and the kids caught some sizable perch that we kept for dinner.

Dick sent me a text the morning before our booked trip, we confirmed details, and set the plan. The morning of, he arrived early, made us feel welcome, and we headed out. A cold front set in, so the fish were not interested in feeding. We marked fish, but alas … just a few pesky perch. At 11:11a we hit our first walleye and then a nice 21.5” about 20mins later. Through all of it, Dick kept working the ridge and kept marking fish. Great guy; great guide. I recommend.

Fantastic Day Chasing Walleye

Had a wonderful day fishing for walleye and talking football with Dick. He worked hard to put us on some nice fish and wound up with a limit of nice walleye. After a tough couple of years, this was the kind of day I needed and would highly recommend Dick's Guide Service.
