San Francisco has a fish with your name on it, so let Pamela J Charters help you catch it!
You’re likely to go after Striped Bass, Crab, Halibut, Lingcod, Ray, Rockfish, Chinook Salmon, White Seabass, Leopard Shark, Shrimp, Sturgeon, and more, depending on when you go. On the day of your trip you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light tackle.
Your vessel for the day is a 30’ Island Hopper sportfishing vessel with room for 6 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are included. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
Before coming aboard, you’ll need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks included on board.

Great fishing with Captain Matt

This was our first ocean fishing trip with kids. Before the trip, Captain Matt was always available and responded to messages very quickly. Captain Matt met us at the pier and introduced us to deckhand Angelo and the boat. Captain Matt and deckhand Angelo were very friendly and sociable! The boat was very comfortable, and we were offered snacks and water. The boat had a toilet, which is very important when you're with kids. We caught a lot of crabs, then went fishing and were very surprised when we caught stingrays, a first for us. The day spent with Captain Matt and deckhand Angelo was wonderful and unforgettable! We will definitely be back!

What a great day!

We had a great day with Captain Matt and deckhand Angelo. The very personable and engaging crew made our day very enjoyable and we learned so much from them! The boat was very comfortable and we enjoyed helping with the more minor activities. Fishing was good but the crabbing was even better -we all got our limit of 10! Matt spent extra time on the water so we could enjoy catching bat rays which put up quite the fight.
All in all, a very enjoyable day that we highly recommend - you’ll have a great time. We’ll be back for halibut season.!

EVERYTHING YOU NEED!
Full Day Dungeness crab and fishing on November 1, 2025 • 4 adults
it was a great time W pamela J. we started off the crab season dumping off baskets and once done with that we went to go fish for a couple of hours bringing in some nice fish about 15 then headed back to collecg the grabs coming in with everybody leaving with 10 crabs each and finished off the day after catching some hard fighting bat rays. Caught an 80lb batray and it took 4 people to bring it in! Great choice to pick if you want to have a great time with your peoples.

Captain Matt and first
mate Vince were awesome! We did a grandpa-dad-grandson trip so grandson could have his first saltwater fishing experience. What a day! first we caught our limit in rockfish and ling cod, then we went back in the bay near sausalito and caught a few stingrays, bat rays, and even a couple shark! it was a great opportunity for grandson to experience a real fighting fish. overall great experience, nearly 10 hours on the water. definitely will return.

Memorable Trip & Great Crew

Booked a day with Matt for the salmon opener weekend. Leading up to the fishing day, he was responsive to the messages I sent him (typically the same day) and communicated well. On the day of the trip, we were all excited to catch fish, but we know that salmon fishing can be tricky and the CDFW salmon season this year only gave a 2 day window...not much time for captains to find the fish. Matt and his crew were great. They told us they did some pre-scouting the days prior to locate the bait and fish. He takes pride in what he does and the years of experience helps him know where/how to find fish. He worked hard to get us on quality fish and stayed out late to get us limits. One of the best trips I've been on and I would definitely recommend him for anyone looking to fill the freezer.
