Excited to catch some fish in Chippewa Bay? That's what Chippewa Bay Bass Fishing Guide is here for! Captain Rick will be your guide, which means you'll tap into years of knowledge and experience.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, and plenty more. During the trip, you might be spinning, trolling, drifting, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Rick also offers fly fishing, but you'll need to bring your fly gear.
Families will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. You're welcome to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
Your fishing machine for the day is a 21' Center console that holds up to 4 passengers. It has a fighting chair, all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Capt. Rick will provide rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Before coming aboard, you may need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain.
Don't leave home without a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunblock (non-spray). There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

4 Hour Trip (Mid-Morning) on September 6, 2025 • 4 adults
Did a 4 hour trip starting 6:30 am. Rick tried to get us out on the St Lawrence but the wind was awful the week we were there. We opted for Black lake and it did not disappoint! We caught 18 fish! Smallies, large mouth and huge crappies! He pitted the girls against the guys, playfully of course, and the women came out the winners! Fun was had my all and Rick was attentive and knowledgeable. Thank you! We'd love to see you in Florida for those peacock bass!

My son and I had an enjoyable morning in the St Vincent area searching for bass. Rick has a nice set up and knows the how to bass fish. He was personable and easy to be around. Found us some schools and showed us different techniques to catch them. Enjoyable day and would do it again.

Smallmouth Slam in Chippewa Bay with Capt. Rick!

He had us on solid smallmouth action from the start, targeting rocky structures and weed edges with precision. Rick’s knowledge of the area was impressive, and he made sure we were comfortable and catching fish throughout the day. The scenery along the St. Lawrence was stunning, and the bite was hot—definitely a trip I’ll be talking about for a long time!
