Looking for a memorable experience fishing Salmon and Trout on beautiful Lake Michigan? Look no further because there’s a fish with your name on it in Port Washington and Fishin Da Net will help you catch it! With Captain Dave at the helm, you’re in knowledgeable and experienced hands.

Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Lake Trout, Brown Trout, and more can be found in these waters if you come at the right time of year. Capt. Dave and his first mate do all the hard work setting lines and locating the fish. You catch the fish and we clean them for you to take home to enjoy!

Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!

Capt. Dave operates a 28’ Sea Ray boat that holds up to 4 adult passengers. They can accommodate up to 6 passengers total if 2 or more are younger children. They have all the safety and fishing equipment, including rods, reels, lures, and electronics. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience.

There usually will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates work for tips and it’s customary to offer them about a 15-20% tip.

Before coming aboard, you will need a Wisconsin fishing license and Great Lakes Trout and Salmon stamp for everyone in your group 16 years of age or older. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain.

Some essentials to bring are drinks, sunglasses, sunscreen, snacks, and appropriate clothing, such as sweatshirts and rain gear. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

I have had many charters from lake michigan to the florida keys . Captian dave and deck hand todd did an incredible job the bite wasnt hot but they pulled evry trick i knew and then some to make absolutly sure we put fish in the boat there equipment was top notch and the spread they put out was perfect for a 4 hour trip ended with 5 quality kings and a pig of a rainbow they were willing to stay out to get our limit but we had to get back to checkout of our hotel so we ran back grab our lugage and todd was kind enough to wait for us to take pics Eccelent charter thanks todd and dave Steve and trissa

The best fishing trip of our lives! Amazing time

We booked our fishing trip with Dave. He was very communicative during the process from beginning to end. He made lots of suggestions on what we should bring and not bring and kept us up-to-date on the weather. His boat was very organized. He had tons of fishing gear. He did not waste any time he got us in the water immediately And we started getting a bite within the first 30 minutes of the trip. We caught numerous fish and he made it very enjoyable for each family member to go through the process of really efficient and catching it. He was very well mannered and kind hearted. We’ve experienced trips where the guides have foul mouthed and he was not like that at all. He took his time to explain the history of the lake and the fishing process. He took detailed time to filet each fish and package it up for us. Not only was this the best trip we’ve ever been on he did one of the best jobs as a guide I’ve ever seen. 100% recommend him hands down. Will come back again one day.

Excellent fising with attentive captain and crew

8 Hour Trip on October 11, 2025 • 2 adults

My friend and I went out on a charter with Fishin Da Net late season (October 11th) and had a lot of success landing 3 King Salmon, 3 Steelhead (rainbow trout), and 1 lake trout between the two of us. Dave worked hard with his crew to put us on fish, consistently altering techniques and figuring out what was working and focusing on that. Dave and his crew were freindly and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend charting with them and hope to be back next season.

Fun day but bad fishing

4 Hour Trip Weekday - 3:00 PM on August 22, 2025 • 4 adults • 1 child

Both men were very nice on the boat and we had a fun time. It’s just hard to swallow to spend that kind of money for just two fish. This is the 3rd salmon charter I’ve been on in the last 5 or so years. Each time I’ve been with different charters with little to no success. Could be bad luck or fishing on Lake Michigan might just be bad. Overall, Dave was very nice so I wouldn’t hesitate to go with him as a captain, but just wondering if it’s worth spending the money on a trip when there are 5 people on a boat and only two people catch one fish each.

Thanks for the review and for booking the trip, Scott. I hope the fishing is better next time you fish on Lake Michigan. The fishery is good, but there are tough days. I was happy your son caught a salmon on his birthday. Anyhow, if you decide to give Lake Michigan another shot, maybe give it a try in May. The coho salmon are plentiful that time of year. The fish are smaller that time of year and generally more concentrated.

Took my wife and son and son in-law for a morning charter. Weather was great and sun rise on the water is an experience it self. First time for the son in-law. He is hooked on the great lake fishing. And one off his bucket list. Boat was very comfortable and with a toilet on board wife was more comfortable if needed. Captain Dave and first mate Todd know what they are doing. We had 3 limits for take home. Thanks for the experience Fish'n da net.
