Boek je volgende trip bij Phantom Sportfishing en ontdek waarom vissers steeds terugkeren naar Kailua-Kona. Met schipper Geoffrey aan het roer ben je in deskundige en ervaren handen.
Soorten als Goudmakreel, Blauwe Marlijn, Zwarte Marlijn, Gestreepte Marlijn, Zeilvis, Speervis, Grootoogtonijn, Geelvintonijn, Echte Bonito, Wahoo en meer zijn te vinden in deze wateren, afhankelijk van het seizoen. Op de dag van je trip ga je waarschijnlijk trollen met licht of zwaar materiaal.
Wil je met het hele gezin naar buiten? Kinderen zijn van harte welkom! Als je geen zwemvest op kindermaat hebt, vraag dan of er een aan boord is. En je kunt nooit fout gaan met snacks om die energie op peil te houden!
Je gaat vissen vanaf een 40' Gamefisherman sportvissersvaartuig met ruimte voor 6 passagiers. Het is uitgerust met outriggers, een vechtstoel en alle benodigdheden. Er is een toilet aan boord voor je gemak. Schipper Geoffrey zorgt voor hengels en molens, samen met kunstaas. Levend aas is inbegrepen, maar vraag er gerust naar zodat je weet of je het zelf moet vangen.
Je krijgt hulp van een eerste maat om je op vis te zetten. Maats werken hard om je trip succesvol te maken, dus een fooi van 10-20% is gebruikelijk.
Je moet een visvergunning aanschaffen via de staat Hawaii. Vergunningen zijn verplicht voor iedereen ouder dan 15 jaar. Vergunningen kunnen op de dag van de trip bij de boot worden gekocht. Houd er rekening mee dat je mogelijk bepaalde vis moet vrijlaten vanwege regelgeving. Als je niet weet wat je kunt verwachten, vraag het dan aan de schipper.
Vergeet niet om een zonnebril, hoed, zonnebrandcrème (geen spray) en water in flessen mee te nemen. Alcohol is in matige hoeveelheden toegestaan, maar probeer sterke drank en glazen flessen te vermijden.

Outstanding Charter

Just an outstanding charter, fantastic Captin and mate, who take fishing seriously- they were both Extremely professional, and knowledgeable. I’ve fished many charters, and this was top notch. The boat was restored perfectly, very comfortable express style boat. The mate was patient and explained everything throughly prior to catching fish we even did a dry run through of what the process would be like if we hooked a marlin or big fish. We ended up hooking a blue marlin, a stripped marlin, and two spearfish on the day on a 3/4 day charter. Fantastic experience and if you’re an avid fisher, there is no reason to search for another boat/charter- use phantom. I will absolutely be coming back to Kona solely to fish this boat.

If you're looking for the best deep-sea fishing experience in Kona, look no further! My trip with Captain Neal and deckhand Chris was absolutely phenomenal and the highlight of my vacation.
From the moment we boarded the boat, their expertise and professionalism were apparent. The boat was pristine and well-maintained, and the gear was top-notch. It was clear from their hustle and local knowledge that they are passionate about what they do and genuinely wanted us to have a successful and memorable day on the water.
Captain Neal's knowledge of the local waters is incredible. He knew exactly where to find the action, and his constant adjustments to our spread and location when the bite was slow made all the difference. Chris, the deckhand, worked non-stop, ensuring we were always ready and providing great instruction when it was time to get a fish in the fighting chair. Their teamwork as a crew was seamless, creating an exciting and confident atmosphere.
Whether you are a seasoned angler chasing a dream Marlin (Kona is famous as the "grander" capital) or a first-timer, this team delivers. We had an amazing time, saw some incredible marine life (whales), and ended the day with an unforgettable experience.
I can't recommend this crew enough. Thanks, Captain Neal and Chris, for a truly once-in-a-lifetime adventure! We will definitely be back!

My wife and I researched quite a few charters for a marlin fishing experience in Kona. I felt we were in good hands with Phantom. We had one take on a 200 lb. marlin, lost the fish before I could get the rod, and my wife did catch a mahi mahi that we were very happy with. The day before and after were better fishing days apparently, but hey, we tried. The beginning of Feb is not a great time, but we had hope. I really liked Niel and Geoff, they know their stuff, it just wasn't a great day for anyone, only a couple boats got anything, so we were fortunate to get something!

Great Day Fishing in Kona, HI with PHANTOM Sportfishing!

Had a wonderful day in the deep blue with Phantom Sportfishing! I called on a short notice as a single looking for a group to join and Captain Geoff Peck was able to make it happen! I was I was lucky enough to get to go with Captain Geoff and Captain Neal along with some of their other crew members and they were all good dudes that knew what they were doing. I can't say enough about them making the day a blast! The boat is phenomenal and the gear was top notch. He had heavy gear set up for billfish and some lighter gear for tuna. We caught two tuna and had three others hooked up. We could have caught many more tuna but wanted to focus on billfish.
I will definitely call Phantom Sportfishing next time I'm in Kona!

We went out with Geoff, and Chris, and I can’t say enough good things about them. Total pros, super knowledgeable, and just awesome to hang with for a full-day trip chasing billfish.
The boat itself? Immaculate. From the polished deck to the (yes!) beautiful bathroom, everything was dialed in. High-end, clean, elegant — just a cut above your average charter.
We set out from Honokohau Harbor on a mission to hook the big ones, and these guys delivered: we landed a blue marlin and a swordfish, saw pilot whales, and even spotted sailfish cruising the surface. It was one of those magical Big Island days — great fishing, great crew, and unforgettable memories.
If you’re thinking about a charter, this is the one. You’ll feel like you’re fishing with friends who know exactly what they’re doing — because you are.
