Eigenaar/Schipper Blair Willis begon in 1996 met het begeleiden van buitenactiviteiten in HHI en runde tegen 2006 zijn eigen bootcharters. Hij is niet alleen een visgids, maar ook een boeiende gastheer met een brede kennis van de lokale waterwegen en natuur.

A Live One is een Freeman Boatworks custom 29' center console. Vers opnieuw gemotoriseerd voor 2025 met Yamaha 300 twin motoren, en een volledige vernieuwing van de elektronica console, heeft het alles wat je nodig hebt voor een productieve dag op het water. Het is de enige Freeman vischap op HHI, een hoogwaardige catamaran romp met een ongeëvenaarde vaart. De brede indeling van deze boot is meer vergelijkbaar met een 34' monohull qua ruimte, en ongetwijfeld stabieler en soepeler varend dan boten in en boven zijn klasse. Kom er snel en comfortabel, met meer tijd om te vissen!
Backcountry/Inshore trips op A Live One zijn geweldig voor kinderen en zeer gezinsvriendelijk! Kindermaat zwemvesten worden verstrekt, maar voel je vrij om je eigen mee te nemen indien gewenst. Coastal/Rif trips zijn aanbevolen voor 13+ jaar, en open zee dagtrips zijn het beste voor 16+. Maximaal 6 gasten voor de meeste trips (4 voor open zee dagtrips).
Inshore trips zijn vangst-en-loslaat vissen. Kies coastal/rif of open zee opties als je op zoek bent naar een maaltijd mee naar huis te nemen. Neem contact met ons op bij ALLE vragen. Resultaten variëren sterk per seizoen en triptype, en we willen er zeker van zijn dat we je koppelen aan de beste trip voor jouw gezelschap!
Al het vismateriaal wordt verstrekt. Levend aas wordt vaak gevangen met een werpnet om de dag te beginnen, of vers gesneden aas indien beschikbaar. Volledig gelicentieerde charterboot, dus geen extra persoonlijke vergunning nodig. Neem een zonnebril, zonnebrandcrème (niet-spray), en flessenwater mee. Alcohol is ok met mate; geen sterke drank, geen glazen flessen, en geen coolers met wielen.
Lees alsjeblieft de routebeschrijving voor details over het ophalen van je toegangspas (!!!) aangezien dit uiterst belangrijk is zodat je je trip niet mist.

Great day to catch fish!
3 Hour Family Shark Adventure (APR) op April 10, 2026 • 4 volwassenen • 2 kinderen
We had a fantastic trip. First and foremost, the captain cared about our comfort. The day we were supposed to fish the weather was cold and extremely windy. The captain provided us with an alternative day so we could have a better experience. When we did start our trip, my 83 year old Dad shared that he was cold and the captain whipped out a spare coat.
The captain was great with two rambunctious and excited boys (8 and 10). He provided them age appropriate task and knew how to keep them busy even in the down time. The best were his one liners about how long it takes to catch the shark!
I also want to note that the captain was great at handling our party that had multiple generations. He showed everyone how to get on the boat properly whether they were old or young and had great rules regarding safety.
I would highly recommend A Live One to all looking for a comfortable and fun time.

Great Family Shark Fishing Trip

We were visiting from Illinois, and Blair took us out for 3hrs. Blair was a great captain from the start engaging our family showing us wildlife along the trip. My 12 year old son had the opportunity of catching 2 sharks, hold a squid while my daughter's (18 & 23) enjoyed seeing the dolphins Blair was able to spot for us. Great Trip and it was money well spent.

A lot if fun

took my 8 year old son out. Captain Willis was very hospitable and engaging. He worked with my son and taught him about the type of fishing and fish we were trying to catch. We did catch a dogfishhead shark.
would recommed this trip for anyone with young kids intetested in fishing.
Futute guests should expect a positive experience.

We first found menhaden for live bait. The other captains worked together to locate the menhaden up around Corn Island. We then set out toward the Broad River almost down the coast even w HH airport. Capt Blair was noting how we were early enough to use the high tide change to low tide for the fish to swim against the tide to catch fish. This worked brilliantly as we actually sat between 2 sand bars and anchored. We tried whole menhaden as well as cut bait. Cut bait proved to be the winner as we ended up finding a school of fine toothed sharks. My son caught/released 2, I caught/released 1, and my younger we believe he caught one but it got off before we could get it close enough to the boat. Considering we were catching shark, their razor sharp teeth were cutting the line 3-4 times when we were close to the boat. My 7 yr old and 12 yr old both had a blast and Capt Blair was very patient and explained to them very well and showed/taught them new things about fishing.
Would definitely go back out, and certainly recommend Capt Blair. Our was a shorter 2 hr stint, as I wasn’t sure how the boys would take for their first one. He does 2, 3, 5 and even deep sea tours as well.
