Whether wadefishing for big Speckled Trout, Sightcasting at Redfish from the tower boat in shallow clear waters, or boat fishing with live/dead bait for Black Drum during the summer months, Trophy Tails Fishing can offer it all. Whether you are looking for one special trophy fish, or fun picture filled memories with the family from the boat, Trophy Tails Fishing is ready to show you a great time on the water!
Please let the captain know how many are in your party prior to your trip, and also please specify what kind of trip you are looking for (ex: wadefishing, boat fishing, lures, live bait, etc.).
Almost all ages can be accommodated, excluding children under 2 years of age. If bringing small children, please be sure to bring your own PFD (personal floatation device for them).
A fishing license is required to fish Texas Coastal Waters, please purchase these before your trip. If you need recommendations on where to purchase, please give Capt Eric a call!
Water is provided for each day, and it is encouraged that you bring your own boat snacks! Alcohol is allowed but in moderation, please drink responsibly.
Tackle can be provided upon request, wadefishing groups will need to bring their own wading gear such as boots, wading belts and tackle boxes. If you do not have wading boots, an old pair of tennis shoes works well!

4 Hour Trip – Boat Fishing (AM) on June 8, 2025
Fished with Captain Eric a few times, both Wadefishing for trophy trout and from the boat. He is definitely a top guide and extremely knowledgeable source when it comes to large trout, catching my personal best with him 2 times over. This past week I took my family, including my 2 kids, with him and to say I was impressed is an understatement. He took care of my kids, showed them how to cast, made sure their hook was baited and kept them entertained all throughout the morning. Could not have gone better. Eric should be your first call for big trout fishing in Texas but don’t leave him out when it comes to the family. He definitely made my family’s day. Thanks Captain Eric!

Full Day Wade Fishing Trip with Eric
8 Hour Trip – Wadefishing on March 13, 2025
No matter what the bite is like, it’s gonna be a productive day with Eric. While his primary objective is to put you on your personal best speckled trout, there is much more to the experience. Eric is always happy to answer questions and take to the time break down the why of things. Why did we stop here? Why are the fish holding here? What is the structure like? Why are the fishing favoring this type of structure? My favorite thing about Eric is that he is going to take the time to teach you and share his knowledge and passion. He wants you to leave the trip as a better angler regardless of the out come. I have had several trips with Eric and will continue to in the future.
A simple Instagram message about Simms wade boots developed into a friendship and mentorship that is a blessing.

I’ve had the pleasure of chasing trophy trout with Captain Eric for years now. He and I have spent numerous days on the water, sharing lots of laughs and always tight lines. We fished many tournaments together, from the saltwater legend series against the best of the best on the Texas coast, countless days pre-fishing together, and many days just enjoying being on the water together with families and friends.
Beyond just being an incredible fisherman, he’s an even better person. I’ve recommended him to countless friends over the years for their family trips or for a trophy trout experience, and always received a phone call thanking me for the introduction and sharing what great experience they had. Whether it’s wade fishing in the salt, chasing trophy trout, beating up on countless schools of redfish, or enjoying fishing from the boat with wife and kids, he is always the first person I call and recommend.

Full day trip with Eric!
8 Hour Trip – Wadefishing on February 7, 2025
I fished with Eric for a few years now. Eric works tirelessly on putting his clients on the fish, providing an enjoyable experience, and giving you a chance at a PB! This past winter we caught plenty of reds and trout, and a good buddy caught his personal best! Eric also competes at the highest level of tournament fishing, so every time you’re on the water with him, you know you’re in good hands. Eric is a super fun guy to Fish with and he’s very respectful. I now consider him a friend and highly recommend booking a trip with him.

My teenage son and I setup a VERY last minute trip. Cpt Eric was very helpful with communicating and setting up a trip for us. It was a beautiful morning and we had a blast catching fishing. Cpt Eric went above and beyond for us - thank you! We laugh and recounted the morning over our cooked fish at a local restaurant. Thank you for the great trip!
