Er zwemt een vis met jouw naam erop in Matagorda en First Class Fishing Charters helpt je hem te vangen! Schipper Ashton heeft vele uren op deze getijden doorgebracht en kan je er alles over vertellen.
Vissen zoals Amerikaanse Bot, Redfish, Trommelvis, Gevlekte Ombervis en meer zijn in deze wateren te vinden als je op het juiste moment van het jaar komt. Tijdens deze trips kun je verwachten te driftvissen met licht materiaal.

Je gaat vissen aan boord van een 25' Mowdy center console met capaciteit voor 6 passagiers. Het schip is uitgerust met alle essentiële zaken waar geen vismachine zonder kan. Hengels, molens en materiaal worden verstrekt, evenals kunstaas. Levend aas is beschikbaar, maar het is goed om hierover te vragen zodat je weet of je het zelf moet vangen.
Voordat je aan boord komt, moet je een lokale visvergunning kopen voor iedereen in je groep. Deze informatie is meestal online beschikbaar, of je kunt het aan de schipper vragen. Sommige soorten kunnen beschermd zijn of een tag vereisen om ze te mogen houden, dus zorg ervoor dat je weet wat je kunt verwachten.
Vergeet je zonnebril en zonnebrandcrème (geen spray) niet. Drankjes zijn voor je beschikbaar. Alcohol is toegestaan in matige hoeveelheden, zolang je sterke drank en glazen flessen vermijdt.

Incredible, knowledgeable, and patient guide - best fishing experience we've had.

We had an outstanding experience fishing Matagorda Bay with Captain Ashton this weekend. Our group included me and my three sons (ages 15, 16, and 8), and this was their first time fishing from a boat and using spinning reels. Captain Ashton was incredibly patient and took the time to make sure each of them felt comfortable and confident, which made a huge difference in their overall experience. As a father of five, I couldn't have asked for a better guide there.
And despite windy and warmer conditions, Captain Ashton maintained a consistently positive attitude that really set the tone for the trip. His energy and encouragement kept everyone engaged and excited throughout the day. It was clear that he genuinely enjoys what he does, and that enthusiasm carried over to us.
He was also extremely knowledgeable about the area and knew exactly where to take us. Thanks to his guidance, we had a very successful outing and caught plenty of trout and black drum for our family of 7 and still had leftovers the next day!
Beyond his skills as a guide, Captain Ashton was personable, friendly, and easy to spend time with—something that really matters on a trip like this. He created an environment that was both relaxed and productive, which made it enjoyable for both the kids and me.
I would highly recommend Captain Ashton to anyone considering a trip in Matagorda Bay, whether you’re experienced or brand new to fishing. He’s a great guy and a great guide who knows how to deliver a fun, success focused, and memorable experience for all ages.

Great Trip

My wife and I booked a trip with Capt Ashton for our 7 year anniversary. He took us out to West Matagorda Bay and consistently put us on the fish at every spot we tried. We sight casted at reds all morning and I finished the day with my limit and my wife bagged a redfish and two nice black drum. He was very knowledgeable of the bay system and knew when and where we needed to be to find the fish. It was a great day and we will be booking with him again soon.

Captain Lindsey called the day before our trip to touch base and asked our expectations on types of fish we were looking to catch. He made sure we had a great day and he exceeded our expectations. Had a great time on the water. We stayed on fish the whole time. Captain Lindsey has his spots, kept things interesting, and was great to talk to. Boat was excellent. Caught a bunch of drum, trout, and a few reds. Probably 25-30 today, but only 2 keeper trout and 9 keeper drum.
Great outing book the trip!
