Smoky Mountain Angler is here to give you a personal experience on the waters of Gatlinburg. We fish the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for wild trout including rainbows, browns & brook trout. During winter months December 1 through March 31, we offer Delayed Harvest waters with large rainbow trout that are stocked WEEKLY on Thursdays. So as the winter goes on, the DH trips get better & better. FISHING IS CLOSED IN DH WATERS EVERY THURSDAY FOR STOCKING, GSMNP TRIPS ONLY ON THURSDAYS!

The name of the game around here is fly fishing, which is what you'll be doing on your trip. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! I will teach you everything you’ll need to know.

Any fish you catch will be released. Jesse can take groups as large as 3 on this guided experience, but we can arrange for more guides if you have a larger party! We fish on foot so there are obstacles such as steep banks, LOTS of rocks, tree roots, etc so be prepared for uneven terrain.

We will meet at our fly shop Smoky Mountain Angler to gear up, buy licenses, & follow the guide from there.

Please dress accordingly to the weather as the winter months can be chilly although its arguably the best time of the year for trout fishing in Tennessee. Blue jeans are the only clothing I would personally avoid as they are abrasive to the seams on waders.

Ready to have the whole family unplug? Then you'll be glad to know that kids are more than welcome. I take children 12 years & younger pretty often & it’s a blast. We do have Childrens Only 12 & Under Fishing if the parents are booking solely for the kiddos as anyone over 12 years of age cannot fish these spots. Kids under 12 also do not require a license.
