I’m a full time professional guide, with over 25 years experience. I have been fishing and exploring the waters of south Florida since I was in high school. I grew up on the water in the upper keys, and Florida bay, and moved to Charlotte county in 1996, where I started guiding in Charlotte Harbor, Boca Grande, and the surrounding areas.
The waters of south Florida are known for Tarpon, Snook, Redfish, Jack Crevalle, Bonefish, Permit, Tripletail, Black Drum, Sharks, Great Barracuda, and more – and I’m comfortable with targeting any of them, in any waters from Sarasota county, all the way to the lower keys.
On these trips, you can expect to use fly gear, or light spin rods… your choice. I’m not snobby about it, and have used it all. About 95% of my clientele are fly fishers… though not all. I also can provide instruction, and can supply any and all gear needed. I have the best rods and reels available, Sage, Tibor, Abel, Thomas and Thomas, Scott, Nam, etc.
I typically fish one or two anglers at a time, and I specialize in clear communication, building skill and confidence, and concentration, when sight fishing.
You'll be casting lines from a 17’ Beavertail Mosquito, a top tier technical poling skiff, with space for 2 passengers. Aside from rain gear, and whatever you’d like to eat, you’ll be all set with everything you’ll need.
I have all the necessary rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with flies, and lures.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Simply ask, and I can tell you more. There are no “dumb questions”.
Though I will likely have it aboard, please don't leave home without sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and polarized sunglasses. Drinks will be available.
