Sunrise Charters is operated by Captain Marcelino De Jesus, the owner and his crew, a fourth-generation Aruban fisherman. He is always looking forward to showing his guests the very best of what Aruba’s famous fishing grounds have to offer.
You will be fishing aboard “Caroline,” a very comfortable 31’ boat whose hull will tackle Aruba’s choppy waters with reliability and dedication. Not only will it provide a stable ride, but it also has ample shade cover and seating, as well as an enclosed toilet. These things help to make it so your whole family can be comfortable throughout the trip.
Join the extremely friendly crew for a unique fishing experience, where you can expect to target species such as Barracuda, Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Grouper, Snapper, and many others. You will be fishing with people who are not only extremely good at what they do, but who also love sharing their passion for fishing with people who come aboard the boat.
The boat has everything you need for a fun day of fishing, including rods, reels, and terminal tackle. Not only that, but you’ll have complimentary soft drinks and snacks on longer trips, and the crew will clean and fillet your catch after the trip. The only thing missing here is you!

Todays trip was outstanding, huge thanks to Capt. Rob and Alex. The boat was well-equipped, with shade and ice cold water if needed while having plenty of room to fish.
First Mate Alex was enthusiastic, funny, helpful, and kept the energy up during the brief lull of catching fish. His positive attitude and great vibe made a welcoming experience for my two boys (7 & 4 years old) first time deep sea fishing.
Capt. Rob was very patient and helpful with my 4 year old son. Showed him some tips and kept him on the rod, catching the most fish of us all.

Despite the choppy water and fish being somewhat elusive, the trip was outstanding—largely thanks to Alex. When we did find fish, Alex was exceptional. The boat itself was clean, well-equipped, and more than capable, but Alex, the first mate, truly made the experience.
He was enthusiastic, patient, and genuinely funny, keeping the energy high even when the action slowed. His positive attitude and great vibe made a noticeable difference for our entire family. We ended up catching wahoo, yellowfin, blackfin, and even some barracuda.
After the trip, Alex expertly cleaned all the fish and recommended a nearby restaurant that cooked our catch immediately. It was a fantastic, seamless experience from start to finish. A great day on the water and a memorable experience for my family—thanks to Alex.

Exceptional experience and great location near high-rise hotels
4 Hour Deep Sea Fishing Trip (PM) on August 17, 2025 • 4 adults
We chose our deep sea fishing charter (4 hours) with Sunrise Charters due to a combination of the great reviews and the convenient location from the Hadicurari Fisherman's Pier, which is walking distance from most of the high-rise hotels, avoiding the need for us to take a taxi into Oranjestad where most of the charters leave from. Captain Marcelino and his first mate were friendly and attentive the entire time, and they provided plenty of cold water as advertised. This type of charter is more like a ride in that the captain lures and casts the lines, but as soon as a fish is hooked, my family of 4 took turns reeling them in. So we had a ton of fun (and caught 7 Barracuda). We trolled all around the western and northern parts of Aruba and got to see lots of sights. At the end, Captain Marcelino filleted 3 of the barracuda for us, and we took them to the restaurant near the pier (Nos Clubhuis), where they cooked them into family style fish dinner for a reasonable price. Loved it beginning to end!

We were guided to some prime fishing spots where the action never stopped – plenty of bites and some truly impressive catches. The crew provided expert tips for both beginners and experienced anglers, ensuring everyone had success and fun.
On top of the great fishing, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with plenty of laughs and stories shared. Safety was clearly a top priority, which gave us peace of mind the whole way.

Capt Marcelino is amazing

Marcelino and his crew are amazing. The Caroline (boat) was immaculate, clean, stocked, all top notch gear and tackle, ready to rock. We got a few bites right off the bat but my wife got really sick. Marcelino and his mate made the right call and we headed back early as no one wants to spend their honeymoon in a hospital. Mandy says Hi and she is really sorry but she is feeling much better now. Don’t worry we WILL be back and she WILL be catching her trophy Barracuda and it WILL be with Marcelino on the Caroline
