Alvor Fishing Donzela offers first-rate fishing trips from the historic town of Alvor, near Portimão in the Algarve region of Portugal. With a variety of fishing trips available ranging from short family fishing trips to full-length big game excursions, they have packages for anglers of all shapes and sizes.

“Donzela” is a very comfortable 32’ Rodman 900 boat that is powered by twin Volvo engines. The boat features a full range of navigational electronics and safety gear, and it also has a kitchen and a small bedroom for your relaxation on the way to the fishing grounds. Donzela has plenty of room to relax both inside and out, and it is also fully furnished with a fighting chair for the very best in big game fishing.

Explore the rich local fishery to the fullest and target some of the most prized species in the world. Whether you want your Portuguese fishing experience to involve trolling the deep seas for Marlin, Tuna, and Dorado (Mahi Mahi) or fishing the reefs and wrecks for Snapper, Dentex, and Bream, Alvor Fishing Donzela has you covered.

Fishing licenses can be obtained for you by the crew at the cost of 5 euros. You will need to have a form of ID with you. Please make sure to bring water, food, and other beverages. Alcohol is allowed in moderation (no hard liquor and maximum three beers per person).

A brilliant day fishing!

6 Hour – Algarve Jigging (5 Max) on August 25, 2025 • 2 adults

My son (15) and I had a brilliant day fishing with Captain Miguel. The launch location was very easy to find and the first thing I noticed was a spotlessly clean and well ordered boat with high quality gear. We were very keen to land red snapper but this was our first time jigging. Miguel was very patient in showing us the technique and when my son lost his first strike, Miguel announced that he does not lose fish. He was true to his word! The boat landed 6 nice fish and I got a tiny mackerel as well. I was not at all disappointed as my son landed two beautiful pargo. My contribution was to clean and cook a really great dinner. A beautiful experience on the ocean. Cannot recommend highly enough.

1st time fishing

4 Hour Trip – Bottom Fishing (PM) on September 16, 2025 • 3 adults

My partner and I went out for a 4 hour, bottom fishing trip. My partner is a experienced fisherman but this was my first time. It was just us 2, so private and relaxed. I caught my first fish and had a blast. Miguel, the captain, and his brother were patient and we had some good conversation. The fishing was a little slow (due to water conditions) BUT they still put in effort to make sure we had fun and caught some fish.

Great trip for beginners and more leisurely minded fishers

4 Hour Trip – Bottom Fishing (AM) on July 21, 2025 • 6 adults

Easy and fun activity with virtually guaranteed catch. Helpful crew under captain Miguel’s supervision. The four hour trip allowed for 2.5 hours of fishing which was adequate to get a feel for this type of fishing and catch numerous fish of different species. Predominantly smaller sizes. Very easy technique and no requirements on previous experience. Please note that you are expected to manage the baiting by yourself, which means fingering pieces of shrimp and squid. If you have four hours to spare try this out!

Great time on the water! 24 fish in total

Had a great time on the water. Caught a mix of bream, mackerel, and grouper. Friendly crew and nice boat with a bathroom. In 4 hrs we caught 24 fish to keep. More if you counts the ones we didn’t keep.

Captain and the crew was amazing in helping the kids to secure they got fish on the line.. everyone fra age 7 to the parents had a amazing trip.. I can only recommend saling with the captain 👍
