Papagayo Fishing takes you after incredible game fish in the waters out of Playa Del Coco.

From iconic Rosterfish to Marlin and schools of Mahi offshore, you’re going to sample some of the finest specimens of sport fishing. And, you will have a knowledgeable skipper by your side, so no matter how experienced you are, you will likely have a blast. The crew of the Papagayo Fishing onboard of the Dream Fishing boat will put you on fish on the right moment according the good weather conditions.

You will be fishing on a 28’ Bertram powered by twin 250 HP Yamaha outboard. You can choose the species you want to target and the crew will customize the trip to your preferences. The weather and season also play a role here, as the captain doesn’t want to give you rough weather, but a pleasant fishing trip.

On full day trips you will be going some 10 miles offshore chasing Mahi, while on shorter trips you will stay about 6 miles from the coast, targeting he legendary Roosterfish.

Kids are welcome to join us, the captain will provide life jackets. The rates also cover food and drinks. On shorter trips you will have some potato chips and salsa, as well as pineapple, watermelon, water, soda, and tea, while on full day you will have some sandwiches or pasta as a lunch.

Onboard you will find conventional rods, light tackle, safety gear, toilet, fighting chair, an ice box, live well, outriggers, and a flybridge. The vessel is fitted with GPS and a fishfinder to help get you to the fish.

The fishing licenses are not included.

The crew can also clean the catch for you. Pack sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and a camera.

Grab your bag, invite your friends, and hop on!

Boat a bit older, but overall a great day. We got 14 catches; bonitos, Spanish mackerel, Mahi mahi among others. Also sightings of dolphins, turtles, flying fish and flying mantas. Boat size perfect if you are a group of 3-4. We got to keep the fish and the superb restaurant Casito Marisco made us a splendid dinner enough for sex people

Crew was on-time and ready to go. They worked hard all day to put us on fish. Snacks, drinks, fresh pineapple, and mahi sashimi kept us going all day. Highly recommended!

Full Day Trip on March 15, 20184 adults
Were scheduled a full day of fishing with Captian Gervyn and his mate. They were very friendly. They picked us up on time. They had a cooler full of water, beer , icetea and soda along with fresh pineapple and watermelon. The sandwiches were just ok. I would suggest to take your own food . The trip was great until the Captian asked how much of our fish we wanted. Of course I paid $750 for all day, your sign you have hidden by the seats suggests 20% tip for the mate for cleaning and you want some of my fish. We were going to offer anyway to give them a filet from the dorado we caught and they almost kept a whole fish by putting it back in their cooler. Plus we did give them $120 tip that I now wish I didn't since they tried to keep a whole fish. I don't think they made a mistake. I took back one filet but should of keep it all. If you choose them. I would still tip them but KEEP MY FISH.

Hi Mr. Scott Gerton. You mentioned 3 imprtants points that i need to clear up. 1- About the sandwichs. Thanks, i will keep that in mind. 2- You catched 3 big mahi mahi, but why not to share at less 1 filet with the crew meanwhile you take 5 with you. If there was a mistake about the fish, it was from my mate that he did not understand what i said. (Only one filet for us) That was what i talked with you, 1 filet. I couldn't see waht he did with the fish cos i was up on the bridge. 3- You said that there is a sign who says about the 20% but that is just for tiping the crew for the dayof work, not for paying to the mate who HAS to clean and allowe you to keep the fish if you want. We clean the fish, cos that is our work and placer for you, doesn't matter if you take or not the fish. I don't see in the sign anything about cleaning fish. But for sure, i will keep that in mind. The tips are a suggest; You don't have to give if you don't want. This situation did not have to have happened. Greyvin Mendez.

The crew was great, the wind was very high, this affected the fishing. Caught 1 small red snapper. Winds were too strong to hold on station for the bite. I know we would have had a much better result if winds would have been more calm. Still was Blessed with a Great crew! Hope to be Blessed with calmer winds next time out. PURA VIDA!
