Cancun Light Tackle & Fly Fishing Tours organiseert trips van verschillende lengtes in de afgelegen wateren van de Nichupte Lagoon. Het gebied ligt gunstig in de hotelzone van Cancun en zit vol met een enorme variëteit aan tafel- en sportvissoorten die alleen maar wachten om gevangen te worden. Het is ook perfect voor kinderen en mensen die last hebben van zeeziekte, omdat de wateren kalm en beschut zijn.
Tijdens uw trip kunt u alles leren over het hanteren van het vlieg- en spinmateriaal dat u zult gebruiken. Spinmateriaal is perfect voor kinderen om op te leren, terwijl de enorme selectie aan vliegvisfavorieten dit een geweldige locatie maakt voor zelfs de meest ervaren visser. Vang Permit, Tarpon, Gratenvis, Binnensnoek en Ladyfish in ondiep water, of ga naar dieper water om te vissen op grote Paardmakreel, Barracuda's, Snappers en meer.
Het vaartuig waarop u zult vissen is een 17' Maverick HPX flatsboot. Ze is gebouwd in 2016 en is het ideale visplatform voor deze kalme, ondiepe wateren. Het vaartuig kan twee volwassen gasten vervoeren en kan varen met een indrukwekkende snelheid van 25 knopen.
U krijgt kwaliteitsvol vlieg- en spinmateriaal, en een selectie van levensechte kunstaas en vliegen om de brede waaier aan doelsoorten aan te trekken. Uw schipper zal u alles leren over hoe u de uitrusting en de vis moet hanteren en zal ervoor zorgen dat iedereen aan boord de kans krijgt op geweldige vangsten, ongeacht uw leeftijd of vaardigheidsniveau. Er is een extra aanlegplaatsvergoeding van US$10 per persoon.

My daughter and myself had a great 3/4 day on the water. I didn’t boat many fish but not by any fault of the guide. I chose to focus on tarpon and wow they are harder to land than I ever expected but what a battle. (Also note I blew my shoulder out a week before our trip and still chose to fly fish). Soooooo many hook ups and great fights but my own human error hampered my overall success.
We had chances at tarpon, snook and trevalle in our six hours. I 100% recommend the experience to other anglers.
I’d also like to mention the boating experience through the channels in the mangroves, truly video worthy.

Fishing in less-than-ideal conditions, we battled strong winds and dirty water in the wake of a cold front. We had a few opportunities at tarpon, but unfortunately missed them due to operator error. My son is 14, and it’s easy to forget that kids aren’t always familiar with the old-school clock-face system for casting direction. Fortunately, our guide consistently positioned us in the right spots to target snook tight in the mangroves and Barracuda cruising the channels . The boat, guide, and gear were all top-notch. I would absolutely take this trip again.

it has always been my dream to catch a Tarpon on a fly rod in a place like this.
I had excellent communication as soon as I booked my trip.
I met my friend Mauricio (Mo) at the marina. First he asked me how I wanted to fish. I said I like fly fishing.
He told me that it is challenging and I have to make a good cast to catch a fish.
We set out and had a great afternoon.
He was like fishing with my best friend all day. He even hassled me when I screwed up on casts. ❤️
I caught Tarpon, Barracuda and Snook on a fly rod which is all I ever wanted!
Since I was a little kid, I wanted to do this and these guys took me there.
I'll never forget this trip and my recommendation is if you are serious about this kind of fishing.. just go you and Mo.
It would not have been as awesome if I brought a friend.

Martin was excellent at communicating. He was quick to respond and the answered all my questions. We were on the water a little before 7 am and Maurescio was fantasic. His humor, wit and personality made for a fun morning. He put us on top of fish at every fishing spot. We caught barricudas, snook, jacks & a mangrove snapper. A big tarpon was able to elude us today sadly. He was patient in teaching my husband who has only fly fished in rivers and streams how to fly fish in big open saltwater. We fish almost daily in southwest Florida and still had a bunch to learn. Maurescio is a seasoned captain and very good at his skill. We will absolutely book again next trip!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review for My Cancun Lagoon Trip
I booked a 6-hour light-tackle trip in the Cancun lagoon and had an awesome time. We started with artificials and switched to live bait as the sun came up. I ended the day with around 10 barracuda, a few snapper and jacks, and a solid snook.
I normally fish freshwater for bass and brackish water for trout and redfish, but the style here is different. If you go, trust your guide’s advice—they know the lagoon, the fish, and the techniques. Once I adjusted how I worked the bait, the bites came fast.
Great guides, professional service, and a real fishing experience—not a tourist trap. Highly recommend this trip to anyone… and don’t forget to tip your guide. They earn it.
