If you’re looking for a family-friendly fishing trip exploring the inshore waters of Cedar Key, FL, J. Lowe’s Guide Service has the perfect charter for you. Spend a half or full day combing the shallows for local superstars like Redfish, Trout, Sharks, and more.
Captain Jason Lowe was born and raised right here in Cedar Key and he has spent his life fishing these waters. He knows all the tricks and top spots for bringing in the best fish. He is also a proud father who understands the joy of fishing with the little ones.
Capt. Jason runs his trips aboard a 24’ Carolina Skiff flats boat. Newly-built in 2018, the vessel features a full array of safety and navigational equipment to get you fishing in the right place and keep you and your group safe. It also has a trolling motor to let you stalk the shallows in silence.
Once you find your fish, you will be able to battle it with confidence, using quality gear and a choice of live bait or lures. You are also more than welcome to bring your fly fishing gear along if this is more your style.
At the end of each trip, Capt. Jason will clean and fillet your fish for you, ready to take home and enjoy. All equipment and licenses are included as standard, so all you need to worry about is what to do with all the fish afterward!
The warm shallows of Cedar Key are waiting, full of tasty fish. So grab your food, drinks, sunscreen, and camera and head to the dock for a great day on the water.

Afternoon charter

This was by far the best charter that I have been on. Captain Lowe kept up with us leading into the charter and when we showed up was ready to go. Great personality, great patience, clean language, that works well with kids and families. I brought my son for his 8th birthday and captain Lowe made it special for him. Put us on a lot of fish, brought home a lot of meat. Never stayed in a dead spot too long, enjoyed the sights of Dolphins. Thank you captain Lowe for the memorable trip and I’ll be calling you again in the future.

We we picked up promptly at our designated time right at our condo after reserving 4 months in advance, Jason has impeccable communication and is very patient. We had our children and today in the water was fantastic. We will be back soon! Thank you gor helping us create wonderful memories.

Half day trip with Jason

We took our 15 year old son out to catch some fish. He was the first to catch a shark! Jason was extremely attentive, engaging, and fun. He was in touch with other boat captains during the trip to find out where the fish were biting and moved us as needed to get more bites. He was the perfect host and captain. We caught several fish and kept two nice trout for supper. We will definitely go with Jason again. Had a blast, and memories for a lifetime.

Great half-day trip in November

Our captain Jason Lowe was very professional and had a great personality. I booked my wife, two adult children, mother-in-law, and myself. We had a great time! My mother-in-law had never fished in the Gulf of Mexico, and Captain Lowe was very patient with her and taught her how to cast, and even cast for her at her request. She actually wound up catching the fish of the day, a nice legal red fish. We caught over 30 fish, although most were undersized to keep; however, our captain kept us out past our time in order to catch enough fish big enough to make us a nice mess of fish. He went above and beyond to help us have a fun and memorable day on the water. I would highly recommend, and hope to book another trip with him soon.
