This is one of the best places on the Texas Gulf Coast to catch an “Inshore Grand Slam” – Redfish, Speckled Trout, and Flounder. Sheepshead, Black Drum, and Mangrove Snapper are also in the cards, as well as the occasional Shark and Mackerel.
These waters are fairly easy to navigate, as they’re shallow and calm. You can head out on a half day trip and spend some quality time with your family, or teach the little ones all about the joys of fishing. If you’re looking to maximize your chances of filling the bags with some delicious table fare, a full day trip is probably the best option.
