Blue Marlin really hit their stride in July. This is some of the best Billfishing on the planet, with huge numbers of fish swarming the FADs in search of a colorful teaser or well-placed fly to jump at.

Blue Marlin start to show up in larger numbers around the northern FADs (fish aggregating devices), just as the White Marlin migration moves to the north. The heavy tackle season has officially begun, so strap in and have fun.

White Marlin are around all year, but from March onwards, things hit a whole new level. Hundreds of these strong fighters can be found right along the shoreline, and even a half day trip is a serious workout.

May is the calm before the storm in the Dominican Republic, and we&rsquo;re not just talking about the weather. Blue Marlin madness hasn&rsquo;t kicked off yet, so it&rsquo;s a great time to hit the reefs for Snapper and Grouper.

Inshore fishing picks up in November, with better catches of Tarpon, Permit, Snook, and Bonefish. Offshore, Sailfish, Wahoo, and Mahi Mahi offer awesome trolling or fly fishing action.

The Blue Marlin season draws to a close in October, but that doesn&rsquo;t mean the end of the Billfishing. The Sailfish have just gotten started and will get better and better as time goes on.

September is the hottest and wettest month of the year, with tropical storms and crippling heat putting anglers to the test. This is also the best time of year for Blue Marlin, so the effort will be well worth it.

There&rsquo;s no doubt that the Dominican Republic boasts some of the best fishing in the Caribbean. Seasoned anglers come here to test their skills and hook a monster, beginners are dazzled by the promise of world-class action, and Dominican Republic fishing charters can accommodate them all.
