Crabby’s Fishing Charters is based in between the Comox Valley and Campbell River. This gives you access to the best fishing grounds in both locations, so you can spend less time traveling and more time reeling in a catch to remember! Join Captain Chris Steinbach aboard one of the finest boats in the area, and enjoy the fantastic fishing of British Columbia’s spring and summer seasons.

You will fish aboard a 28’ Osprey originally built in 1997 and restored in 2017. Powered by twin 200 HP Evinrude engines, this vessel boasts a maximum cruising speed of 32 knots. On board you will find a fully private, flushing toilet and an enclosed cabin to shelter you from the elements. This boat has a deck that is twice the size of most boats in the area, giving you and your group plenty of room to cast lines comfortably.

While fishing from April through September, you will have a chance to catch a variety of species, many of them excellent for eating. You can find especially large Chinook Salmon in these waters, with some specimens reaching over 30 lbs. You will also have a chance to fish for Rockfish, Halibut, Prawns, and Crabs.

Capt. Chris will help you target your catch using the most effective method, whether it’s trolling for Salmon, dropping traps for Prawns, or bottom fishing for Rockfish and Halibut. While casting lines you can enjoy spectacular views of mountains and waterfalls, and you may even spot a few whales, dolphins, or bears.

You will find that Crabby’s Fishing Charters provides quality gear and top notch service. You may keep your catch and Capt. Chris will clean and fillet it for you. Packing guests’ fish on commercial grade ice and supplying top of the line fishing gear are the little extras that set Crabby’s apart! Just be sure to bring a Canadian fishing license.

Book your trip today and come experience coastal fishing in British Columbia at its finest!

A wedding anniversary present.
Full Day Trip on May 26, 20192 adults
My wife and I were over from the UK celebrating our wedding anniversary. We are both keen anglers and always wanted to catch Pacific Salmon. We booked our trip prior to leaving the UK, and the only thing that concerned us was the weather. As it turned out we had flat calm sea and high 20's. Chris the skipper was first class in every aspect of ensuring we had the best experience. My wife broke her left wrist in October last year, and when I informed Chris that she might not have much strength in it for catching salmon he made an outfit available to suit her other arm. We both achieved our goals of catching Chinook Salmon along with rock fish and red snapper, a really great day.

Chris was very knowledgeable, friendly and clearly experienced. The boat was well equipped. We weren't fortunate enough to catch any salmon we could keep but we had a wonderful day on the water with Chris nonetheless. We would definitely recommend this trip.

Great spring day fishing!
Half Day Trip (AM) on May 5, 20182 adults
Spent 6 hrs fishing with Chris on the Inside passage way near Salmon point on Vancouver Island. Fishing was a bit slow with a north east wind and a bit of chop but we landed 6 fish 3 of which were keepers in the 8-10lb range. Had a great day. We enjoyed getting to know Chris and a bit about the fish here and look forward to a return trip in the future.
