Like most people who catch their first Redfish, he will never forget the first time he felt the "angry bull-like pull" of a Redfish on the end of his line when he was a kid. He has spent countless years fishing St. Joe Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, and learning what the different seasons have to offer in this amazing fishery so that you have the best chance at catching quality fish. Techniques
I personally love fishing with artificial lures. A basic soft plastic paddletail on a jig head is hard to beat. But my favorite "style" of fishing, is catching!

As I typing this, I'm sitting at home after having to cancel a charter due to high winds, causing unsafe conditions. So i feel it necessary to address this... Sometimes the weather just doesn't work out and we are forced to either cancel, or move your charter to the next available spot, if there is one. Please, PLEASE defer to your captains judgment when it comes to this decision. Safety on the water is the most important thing. There is no fish worth risking anyones safety for, and if your captain is saying it's unsafe to go fishing, he means it. We do not want to or like to have to cancel a charter. This is our living, our paycheck. But money does not or ever will come before safety. On top of that, its about your experience on the water. Poor conditions don't make for a good time and makes it more difficult for your captain to put you on the fish. So please, defer to our judment for your safety, and PLEASE do not get mad at your captain for making the decision to cancel. We work very hard to insure a good experience for you. Well, it's spring time! The inshore bite is heating up and getting better every day! While this has been a tough start to spring due to weekly cold fronts and high winds, the trout bite has managed to turn on and be great! Trout are thick in the grass flats and aren't hesitating to hit an artificial lure. Well, several cold fronts have come through and pushed us into the cold season! The fishing this time of year can be really good as most fish make their way into canals and brackish creeks where water is warmer and food is plentiful. Redfish, speckled trout, sheepshead, black drum, and pompano are plentiful this time of year and usually easy to catch! The summer heat is finally taking a step back, and the water temps are dropping! This time of year always gets me excited. The fish are transitioning from their summer patterns to their fall patterns, making them more hungry and way more active! Trout and Redfish are showing up in 2-3 feet of water in the grass and sand patches, but are still hanging near channels. As the water drops, they will make their way over the grass and stay there until mid-late fall. This is one of the best times of the year to fish and certainly one of the most exciting! The cool morning air makes for some very comfortable fishing time, and a much more enjoyable experience. The bite is much more productive and easier. Trout and Redfish are hitting artificial lures just as well as live bait, but one or the other can be more productive some days. Book your trip now for some exiting fishing! Thank you!
