Booked at 8pm the night before and Jonathon met us first thing next morning.  Trip was great. Jonathon knew the area very well and moved until he found a hot spot. We caught 15 fish in 2 hours! Jonathon was very knowledgeable,  describing the species in the area, the water depth, what we were going after, and what to look for. He provided us some tips along the way and allowed my kids (13 and 11) to be very hands on. Would definitely recommend. It was just what we were looking for.

My fiancé and I booked a 2hr sunset cruise and it was the best experience we have had so far in outer banks. He was determined to find fish for us and made sure we caught what I was looking for (red drum). He was super fun to be around and made sure at all times we were enjoying our time. We ended up catching a few different types of fish and 3 big red drum ! I would recommend this charter to everyone I know because my experience was one of the best charters I’ve ever taken.

Capt. Jonathon was great and very personable! Very knowledgeable, he had everything ready when we got to the boat. He was also very helpful with everyone from baiting to the catch to the reel in. Jonathan was able to identify every species of fish we caught. knowing the size limits for each. Even the music he put on was awesome! His boat was immaculate-he scrubbed after every catch. Highly recommend and we’ll go out with him again whenever we come back to OBX.

Captain Welch is an absolutely amazing guide and wealth of knowledge! I booked this charter for myself and my husband as an early 30th birthday gift for him and it did not disappoint. We caught an incredible amount of sheepshead! I cannot recommend JW Charters enough! I will definitely bringing my friends and family down to book again in the spring. We had a great experience with captain Jonathan on our 2 hour trip. He was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area and the fish. He was fantastic with my 10 year old son. Jonathan was accommodating with time and our fishing preferences. We didn’t sit too long in one spot, we traveled to areas with lots of activity and moved on to other locations at good intervals. We are definitely going to book a longer trip on our next visit!
