Captain RJ and Tim were fantastic!  We can’t say enough about how awesome the trip was.  Each angler was able to reel in 2 fish. Almost right out of the gate, they put us on a sailfish! (See last paragraph for the full story) Quickly followed by 2 bonitas and a king fish.  Then, another sailfish! We weren’t able to “officially” count that one as a catch but this Midwesterner is definitely counting it cause we all saw it and came so close. We rounded out the trip with 2 puppy sharks and a sand tilefish. 

It was cold and rainy but we were able to stay pretty dry in the cockpit. Captain RJ and Tim weren’t so lucky but they were total troopers not even letting it phase them!  I could go on and on about how impressed we were with them, but instead I’ll just tell one story which I think explains it all.

The sailfish we “officially” caught is quite remarkable!  An amateur angler in another boat ran over our line entangling his lure into our line.  He finally cut his line loose allowing us to resume reeling.  As we reeled the line in, his lure came into the boat entangled in our line. Our only option was to cut it.  While Tim wrapped the line in his hand to hold the sailfish, RJ cut the mess out, spliced the line back together allowing us to still catch the sailfish.  Amazing!!

My primary goal for this trip was to learn trolling and rigging techniques for east coast Florida fishing. RJ was well prepared and very knowledgeable.  He took the time to show me some tips and tricks.  Hooked up and landed fish. Jumped a sailfish which was awesome!  I will use him again when fishing in the area.

Setting up and getting going was extremely easy. The captain and first mate were stellar. We caught a 48” wahoo within minutes of leaving the harbor. Over time we hooked several fish, although we didn’t get to keep all of them (some sharks were against it) the whole experience is highly recommended.

I strongly recommend a fishing experience with Gin Clear charters. 
We were a group of six and we fitted very well in the boat.  Captain RJ and his crew were very nice and profesional. Se caught about ten fish and even get to see about 3 different sharks.
