We booked an 8-hour charter with Captain Murray and the day could not have been better. We are keen fishos who wanted to make the most of our time on the water, and Murray understood that perfectly. He put us onto quality fish the entire trip and we fished every second we could. We landed well over 40 fish including Red Emperor, Coral Trout, Sweetlip, and plenty of exciting by-catches to keep things interesting.

Murray delivered great banter, expert guidance, and an awesome lunch as well. His support, knowledge, and passion for what he does really showed throughout the day.

Capt. Murray is an experienced and passionate Skipper / Angler. His patience and guidance for Non anglers was outstanding. His bespoke vessel is extremely well equipped and kept in a tip-top condition.
All the fishing tackle was pre rigged ready to target the ever changing conditions and the diverse fish species
Lunch and snacks were provided and all were freshly prepared and very tasty.
In summary, all 3 Family members had a fantastic day, a real memory maker.

We had an amazing private fishing trip with our incredible captain (pictured in the middle with the blue shirt)—hands down one of the best outdoor experiences we’ve ever had! From start to finish, everything was well-organized, fun, and safe.

The boat was spacious and well-equipped, and the captain was super friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about fishing. He patiently guided us through every step, from casting the line to reeling in our catches—and we caught some beautiful fish! 🐟🎣

The scenery was breathtaking. Crystal clear turquoise waters, calm sea, and lush green islands in the background—it felt like a dream. After the fishing, the captain even helped us fillet the fish right on the boat. It doesn’t get fresher than that!

Huge thanks to the captain for making this day so memorable. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the Whitsundays or nearby area. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a first-timer like some of us, this trip is absolutely worth it!

Murray from Catch My Drift Charters was absolutely outstanding! His local knowledge of where to find the fish was second to none — he took us straight to the best spots, and we were pulling them in non-stop. What really made the trip special was how fantastic he was with the kids; his patience, enthusiasm, and knack for keeping them engaged turned it into a fun and memorable adventure for the whole family.
